Howdy everyone!! You guys are having a gathering soon eh~ Cool! Too bad i don't have a sugar glider. 

Anyway, got a few questions here. Well, currently i'm in the last year of my degree program and will graduate end of this year. Most probably will start working during March or April depending on my job hunting result. Since most probably i will be joining one of the Big 4 accounting firms, i will not be at home during the weekdays from 8 till 6.30 in the evening. However, i will have free time during the weekends.

Do you guys think i will be a suitable SG owner judging from my daily schedule?

Ok Final name change for new comer, Meegy. Meegy always rides on Judy's back when they both are on my hands. Meegy is still a bit bitey.

this type of shop really don't deserve us to support.. not only animals. i don't think i willing to buy anything they hv in the shop.. don't even want to step in..

Ha ha.. sorry you are second. Yup cos Julie and Isabelle don't suit her personality. She always make alot of noise. But has improved greatly with the help of Judy. She's doing and eating well, as this has been the second day she's been with Judy and myself. Judy accepted her as a companion already. Introductin was done outside and inside the cage with very close supervision. They also sleep in the same bonding pouch cuddling and grooming each other.

Nezu, you got both girls? I heard that one is very quiet (tame).

actually its Toby Pet, not pet safari.. they rent the small animal to Toby Pet, which their main branch is in penang.  not only suggie.. all pets they say is sick, underage.. die rate very high

Even my Gino 3 months old also love to be in warm places     

i will keep my Gino inside the bonding pouch and put it inside my cloth that i'm wearing while at home    .

Thanks HAZZY, HUN n KP for ur suggestion about yoghurt.Everyday i put a milk inside my daughter cage bt they never touch it..n yesterday i giv them mealworm n they like it so much hehe.Bt y female joey more crabbing if compare to male ek?last time with my rocky n rambo they do crabbing lar bt nt as much as momo n mimi..non stop making noise wen i try to manja2 with them..or jst because they r female hehehe u guys no wht i mean right ops.

hahaha...thanks thanks....yeap....have been doin research for months now and roughly knows about the diet, behaviour and of course the most important thing is commitment. Its like having a real baby! good training to future to be dad!  well...of course having a real baby actually means more hassle than this...xD I live nearby petshack so, most probably will be getting a full set from them if i'm ready to own 1. Went there once and got quite some advice from them. Final advice from them is "MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLANS BEFORE GETTING ONE FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU NEED TO GO OVERSEA OR SOMEWHERE HOW YOU GONNA DEAL WITH YOUR SG?" scary~ but i guess that is very true...gotta tink properly 1st....anyway....ARIGATO AGAIN!

Hi, I’m new here but I have been following this glider thread for a very long time. I’m not a glider owner yet because I not yet finish my research and gliders are so adorable and yet so complicated. Another reason I not yet get a glider is also because everyone here are advising people not to get a underage joey.

Lately I notice something strange happen in the glider thread, few of the people here are starting to promote Toby Pet and I was wondering why. I always thought they are selling underage joey, they have no knowledge about glider and we shouldn’t support them.

Today I went to Toby Pet to check out their glider, and I saw all the underage joey there look so sick and pitiful, and the worker actually can tell me they are 2 months old, and they only need to eat apple, grape and so call “glider food”, and if I remember correctly got one senior member here have pointed out is actually a dog food.

And then when I saw a poster stick on the glider tank then I understand why people here are start promoting Toby Pet, which a senior member here actually selling her product there. I’m so disappointed when I saw she actually can supply and supporting them to sell underage joey when she actually have told us not to support pet shops selling underage joeys. In fact she got say:“WE HAVE TO BE CRUEL TO BE KIND”, meaning don’t buy when they look pitiful because people will continue to supply.

I always thought we shouldn’t buy from (or supply to) this kind of pet shop, because “WHEN THE BUYING STOPS, THE KILLING STOPS”.

Perhaps it is true what some other forumers say, it’s all about the money. 

I’m very disappointed and I have lose my faith with the senior people here as they are not honest with what they say.

@nezumitaro: I get what you're saying... But there isn't too many honest and good pet shops around like Pet Shack or Fluff. So for those who have problems with transportation it is just so difficult.

For example, Jack wants to get a bonding pouch and sleeping pouch for his sugar glider cuz his glider doesn't have one. His parents won't fetch him to Pet Shack purposely for 2 "silly pouches" and he can't get permission or public transport to go.

So the question is, do we advise him to go to the nearest shop with the pouches he want that his parents will bring him (like Pet Safari. It's in a shopping mall so parents are more inclined to go) and get the pouches so his glider can use it; or we insist he go to pet shack although he can't go there?

As for me, I feel his suggie's needs are important and should go for the next best option. Not everyone will agree with me though.

But this does not apply for pets or live animals lar. Getting a suggie that's weak and underaged is asking yourself to throw RM 400 away besides supporting them to ask suppliers to snatch baby suggies from their mums at a young age. If he can't get to a good breeder or shop for a pet suggie of proper age and health, I think he shouldn't get a suggie at all lor.

P/S: It'll be so great if there was more branches of Pet Shack around.

i got only one glider....

a bit small.....fit all over my palm..will it be too much??...cause i tot its gonna be too much, and yesterday i fed one slice oso she cannot finish.....then i cut into pieces..still cannot finish..what she know is to drink, eat the mix and sleep....damn malas..hahahah

i asked the seller how old..she said around 2 month like dat....around 7 weeks old....abit underage la...and its a female...any tips?....all i know gliders cannot drink milk....what if milk with low lactose?..like HL or something like that..or is there any suggestion to replace its mum's milk?...(hope its not a silly question)

dint mean dat lolx...sumtime she bark till got ppl wake up...yterday im lying on d bed i cant sleep..i wave my hand thn she start doing snake dance...hehe...d floor get quite dirty sumtime cz she eat till very messy...slurp overdose will cause wat??..i oso wanna noe lolx

Janice , I think u should try to give ur joey apples, pear, mango or those sweets fruits 1st?? apples n pear I know they love it normally if my glider dun wan to eat the food I will wait till morning cuz if I fed her slurp n mealies at nite she will start to eat the fruits next morning. But is she doesnt want the fruit I just thrown in some dry fruits treats into her pouch and she finish it

i tried pear , water jambu , apple , and sweet plum . the worse is apple , she din even bother ! ( but i also dun like apple . hehe )
and among that only pear she finish it , water jambu i squeeze into juice only she take it. sigh 

however is it okay to leave the fruits overnite ? or only feed it the next morning ?

Anyone try the nectar diet or te acacia gum before ? It can be taken alone ? Coz i tot it must be mixed together with other food . 

hazzy, do you feed the acacia gum, gliderade and insectivore fare that you're recommending to your gliders?

How is it? Do they take?

Jack eye looks like very red loh like sleep not enough,thought wanna help him for whole day free
