Yes, esp if you are using it ot watch Astro. No worry of any problem for 5 years. Unbeatable for now.Home Theatre LCD and Plasma TV Discussion Thread | V3, Which is right for you?

QUOTE(tanleeseng @ Nov 15 2008, 03:56 AM) Apologize for not being clear. Yes...I'm wathcing 8TV via RF through normal TV antenna. The pictures are clear but there is a very light hissing/crackling sound when the volume is raise. No such problem with RTM1,RTM2,TV3 & TV9. A bit noticeable on NTV7 but very significant on 8TV. I wonder if the same applies to same TV channels on Astro ? Might it be because of the TV's built in speakers ? So, it is RF. There must be some interference with the RF. If Astro, I don't think it'll have hissing sound on 8TV. QUOTE from recent newspaper seems from 15 nov sony, panny, and some others are having new wave of year end promotion Yes, Samsung will join in the fray soon too. |

QUOTE(mpyw @ Nov 17 2008, 02:48 PM) If Pioneer drop their price of the PDP-508XG/428XG/LX508/LX608 when they launch the new models here...grab it....the PQ are among the best of flat panel TVs... I agree with you. Only if they drop the prices I am eyeing 508XG. Pray hard that the price will go down fast |

PV8H is the cheaper model, that is without SD slot and C.A.T.S.
PV80 or PV80H are the same. Yes, the Full HD panel is making an influx into the mart. More to come in early next year. |

QUOTE(xXwasabiXx @ Dec 4 2008, 01:20 AM) Hi, im planning to buy SAMSUNG LCD tv very soon. Here are the differences :Currently looking into either LA32A650A1R or LA32A550P1R. Both are 32" and full hd. 1. Do guyz know what is the difference between both of these models? 2. What are the prices & where can i get the best bargain (any forumer selling cheaper than outside?) My purpose for LCD is connecting either to my NMT (Network Media Tank) or PC direct to my LCD TV> I'll be watching mostly from downloaded BLU-RAY rip. (mkv + AC3 + DTS). Secondly will be using it to play my PC games eg: diablo3 and Starcraft2 (soon) 3. Can the TV support AC3/DTS over HDMI? TV with AC3 and DTS decoding. If dont have, plz guide me further. 4. About sound/speaker, does tv alone is sufficient? What amp/av/etc.. sorry im not familar with audio toys. What else i need? http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/subtype...=LA32A550P1RXXM No, the tv does not support AC3 /DTS. You need a AV receiver or HTiB to do that. LCD TV / plasma tv speakers are crap. |

QUOTE(arj @ Dec 5 2008, 10:39 PM) I saw the Samsung 40" A650 earlier today, playing Blu-ray Transformers and Kungfu Panda and was really impressed by it. If you can make do without 100hz and a few extras in 40A650, go for 40A550 as it is RM1,450 cheaper. For those of you who have done a comparison of LCDs with similar price and specs, which other models should I be looking at? Called Legend and they quoted me RM5300. Anything better looking than the A650? ronnt88, aiming for Kuro now? |

Another thing to add is that 42PV8H is obsolete. That's pretty short life of it. Now, Pana focus on PV80H.
