QUOTE(sunnyK @ Oct 7 2008, 03:44 PM) sony's and samsung's latest mid range and above LCD all have excellent black level . almost at plasma level. sorry to say.. i've read so many reviews over the net. 100hz/120hz doesnt solve the blurring issue of a lcd. most of them said the 120hz at max will create some kind of artifacts and like 'force to move' faster.. they better find some else which is better to replace the motion thingyby next year most if not all top tier brand LCD have excellent black level including hitachi and sharp .sony is coming out with contrast ratio of 1,000,00 to 1 the only issue left to tackle will be clouding which seem an eternal problem of LCD . with processor improving to 120/150 hz or even 200 hz and ever improvement of their engine and panel this last problem will be solved eventually . 2009/2010 will see LCD technology reaching full maturity with resolution at 3840x2160 and thereafter from 2011 we will see the charge of OLED slowly taking over plasma will still continue to survive though . heard panasonic is coming up with something that will revolutionize power saving and PQ lets hope the price of blue ray player will drop fast and especially the price of its software . once we see pasar malam traders starts to sell real BD movie , thats the time to celebrate and dance . do pray that piracy law dont come down too hard on the chinese mafia in china and we'll see pricing coming down sooner rather than later |

QUOTE(obiwankedah @ Oct 8 2008, 01:48 AM) iamsobloodysick great meeting u finally...thanks for the new tvs bro u bought 850 from him? hows it working? how is it better than 800? =)great seller, highly recommended... 5 bintang ni... kena bagi Added on October 8, 2008, 9:26 am QUOTE(aerobowl @ Oct 7 2008, 06:07 PM) wait till plasma says good bye to heat (internal fans) and higher power usage compare with LCD lets take plasma/lcd both 50inch/52inch which sizes of these two are closer and compare their wattage.LCD technology seems more promising in near future as least sony and samsung are more keen with LCD line panny plasma py800 555wt (with eco friendly, lead free) samsu lcd 650 300wt (not eco friendly) do u know lcd backlight is always on even in darker scenes? if u r using for 5 hours all the way 300wt. while plasma doesnt use backlight, when the scene is bright maybe up to 555wt but when there are darker scene it maybe can drop to 350-400wt which doesnt reli have too much diff from lcd's. with plasma's superb technology FULLHD had reach their limits and couldnt be upgraded too much which mean we dont have to change to a latest one. it has everything in it which the PQ and motion are more important to us. but lcd is always upgrading its FULLHD tvs. non-stop with its dynamic contrast, motion blur, what what design, add this and add that which we malaysian doesnt have those HD decoder to plug into those slots to use them. ok maybe malaysia will have HD programs in future.. but how long is that future? even those RTM also never improved!! lolz.. today u buy 50000 contrast and 120hz.. few months later got new 70000 contrast and 150hz. how many tvs do u have to change? we must admit.. plasmas are still better for us in malaysia. and remember our broadcast technology upgrade very very slowly This post has been edited by law1777: Oct 8 2008, 09:27 AM |

=.= i told u already they are doing what FULLHD has to offer till its limit. lcd is only half way to FULLHD although they are really FULLHD now but wif the technology its so far behind plasma. plasmas are lcd's future meaning lcd is gonna become like plasma but they will still remain being named lcd
Added on October 8, 2008, 10:56 am QUOTE(gsdev @ Oct 8 2008, 10:53 AM) Guys how do you protect yor Plasma / LCD TV from lighting. I have Belkin Gold for the power surge protection but what about Astro?. lighting(s) are those lights from sun thru your window into your room/living room or your lights in your house. i think lightNing is the word u wanna type i take it as a typo..The SAT/LNB is connected to the Decoder directly. Decoder power is via the Belkin but the s-video cable / audio RCA jacks out of the Astro Decoder are connected to the Plasma directly. I cant use the TV connection on the Belkin as it is using the normal 75ohm jacks. So how you guys isolate the Astro Decoder from the Plasma / LCD TV? QUOTE(slk5538 @ Oct 9 2008, 08:21 AM) Are you referring to the Mitsubishi laser TV? I don't know if it is going to be 50% cheaper than plasma/LCD, but it sure ain't slim tv. The 65" model is approx 270mm thick w/o stand. you can go onto youtube and search for 'laser tv'. the developer themself said its alot cheaper to make a laser tv than plasma/lcd and the price would be 50% of a plasma/lcd. OLED tv is also another type which will replace lcd but they use printed organic. as you know organic are very fresh material and has never been added any additives so may cause those organic to rot and very sensitive towards water. imagine u place them in the airconditioned room =)BTW, do you mind to share where did you learn that is 50% cheaper. I think there are quite a few who are interested in this tv also. TQ |

QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Oct 10 2008, 12:16 AM) personally prefer plasma py800 as its rated to have highly accurate color, less than 0.1ms which is very important for gaming smoothness and of coz plasma is always better for movies. the series6 was also rated quite high over the cnet but doesnt have blacker black than py800 and its 100hz appeared to be unnatural, it's screen is also not reflective compared to plasma but lol.. who wants to play/watch fullHD games/movies in a bright environment? have a look at them at your local store to have better decision on your own.. good luckThis post has been edited by law1777: Oct 10 2008, 12:33 AM |

really crapssss!! on asia.cnet and cnet itself this model has different review. asia.cnet did not said it introduce flicker in the review but then i saw on the page of tips&tricks i saw them advice to off the 24p on ps3 to prevent from py800 flicker. so confusing. cnet said py850 has inaccurate primary color but then asia.cnet did not said so. soooooo confusing!! btw i had sent my questions to them and waiting for their reply..
