Dont tell me your laptop doesn't have DVI. Even my 5 year old iBook has DVI Out , and it can connect to my HDTV just fine (With DVI TO HDMI Adapter) and I'm set. I am sure your laptop has DVI Out or just use VGA. IMO , at least its not going to overscan the display and you'll get pixel perfect on VGA (eventho its analogue)

If you ask me , skip S-Video , and go for VGA Straight or just use DVI TO HDMI Adapter , that would do the trick. DVI is digital and HDMI is digital. Its just that you wouldn't be carrying HD Sound via DVI , just the image only. For sound , i am sure you can use analogue

Then notice the umphness of the video , especially when you can use softwares to upscale the quality (not soo good0 but it will give you a good image)

I'm telling you AGAIN, my laptop doesn't have DVI or HDMI. cry.gif My laptop is not same as yours ,very lauyah one. tongue.gif Only Dell inspiron 1520.Lucky you got an iBook. My laptop just just VGA out and S video Out.
I know the s-video not so good but what i can i do. I'm searching for the VGA cable at the moment, so i'm using the s-video cable.
Still no hope for DVI to Hdmi. Huhuhu

Funny , judging from your specifications , the graphics card supports HDMI anyway. I guess Dell didn't enable it. That's sad. Go get a VGA Cable and make full use of progressive scan. Anyhow , do let us know the quality once you have swapped the cable
*
Yep. Thanks prasys for the recommendation. notworthy.gif I'm definitely looking for a VGA cable. biggrin.gif
I agree, Dell is weird. They offer good gaming graphic cards and even got options for BLu Ray Reader/Burner, but no DVI or HDMi connection. blink.gif Bummer...

Just bought a VGA cable. So difficult to find, cos most stores only have the extension VGA cable and not the Cable to monitor. Hook it up and walah ! PC mode appeared on my HDTV. Vast differences PQ compared to the previous S-video cable.

Hey guys.... after months of dilemma I have finally make the decision and picked the Panasonic Viera 32LX800 (Thanks to iamsobloodysick for giving me a good deal on the set). Tested it out with some games and Transformers The Movie Blu-Ray disc on my PS3. Suffice to say I am very satisfy with this purchase. I'm still not sure of some of the features that come with this model so hope someone here who own/have experience with this model can help.

1. I'm not sure how to describe this but I saw some high end LCD panels which are able to make films look like a videos (It's like the movements of the actors becomes very smooth and you can really differentiate the foreground and background). Is the Motion Picture Pro something similar to this because I don't really notice it like I did with those LCD panels that has that function.

2. How do you access the demo mode for the 100Hz/60Hz splitscreen demo in LX800 ? Is it a function only available for display unit ?

3. I notice there is a minor hissing sound when I'm watching certain local TV channels (Most noticeable is 8TV). Do you guys face have the same proplem ?

Thanks.

P.S. You guys must really get Transformers Blu-ray. The story is not that great but film details and quality really shows off on a LCD/Plasma compared to the DVD version.

Yeay!! Another Panny supporter. thumbup.gif I also wanted to know how to activate the DEMO mode. brows.gif
