personally.. i recomend u to get a good pair... bcoz breed VT or HM work are all the same... so, to get a satisfied outcome.. get a better grade...

erm.. if u still wan to try to breed... i hav some cull halfmoon female(but sure better than VT), juz nid to scope them if u wan it... only self-collection at my place.... pm me for more detail...

may b after u cross male VT to female halfmoon... probably.. u will get some delta tail...

Lol yeah I have tried to breed them, but only reached 3 weeks of age then the fry died due to lack of food. At that time I haven't got proper baby food (ie: MW) yet.

Well breeding fish is a hobby I guess, when one becomes engrossed in these magnificent beauties I bred VTs as practice, didn't want to risk losing the more expensive bettas (eh: HM, PK etc).. Until I get to grow a successful spawn of VTs, only then will I attempt the show standards.

Hi, This is my 1st Post and I had just join this Forum. Yes I'm a Drummer (justa Road Warrior - part time have a day job), besides Drumming (my Main Hobby nowadays for 2 years already) - - - - I've just come back into the Hobby of Rearing Betta, as one of my friends had influence me. I'm from Singapore...and Hi everyone here.

I wanted to buy those Betta (Fighting Fish) that are Short-Tail Type (not those for Beauty Type even if they are shor Tail), and definetely not The Long Tail Type (thiose Half Moon whatever)....I need a Fighter, and a good one. Thiose with Good Body Structure (Head Body fin and scale). with a Sharp Bite, Agile and Fast with Good Stamina from Good or Top Breed of the Fighter's Family...not too old about 6mths old to 10 mths old type.....colour is OK with me.

I hope you all can help me here as I need these Fighting Fish (Males & Females), partly to Breed as a Hobby and Betting Purposes.

I went into this Hobby 2 weeks back only when someone introduce me this Breed of Fighters. There were a Groups (many Groups in fact) in Singapore betting $$$ on these fish. The ones that I buy from a Normal Singapore Fish Shop of course will not be able to pit against their fighters not even close as they all (from what I heard) got their fishes from Malaysia (as they have Lobang but I dont have) - - mainly from Ipoh Sources/Farms. Their batch of fighters comes in (eg No 38 or No12 - it's the number in the Fighting Fish Farm pond lot I know) so if the fish is good - they order again.

Of course they wont tell me where to buy them and which Farm as Ipoh has many many Farms there (the different groups buy from different farms) - they are expert here only me - have no source to buy a Good Fighter.

Can you all please help me, especially if you are from Malaysia...

PS:- As Johore is very near Singapore, I wonder if I can also get good Fighters from Johore sionce it's nearer to Singapore......Seriously, in my entire life, I've only been to JB only 5 times and KL once.

u can.. but u need to condition the water beforehand with anti-chlorine or even better, use aged water.. rain water will do fine too

dun hav the conditioners yet... afraid buy wrong one or bad brand, what u guys use?

inorite! still airing them at the balcony, 1 day should be enough?

if this afternoon rain, imma take bowl outside xD

im using ocean free anti chlorine (one of the cheapest if not the cheapest in the market ) for my betta and other tanks.. so far so good but i still age my water though.. 1 full day would be enough IMO

Added on October 10, 2008, 4:03 pm@drummer.. as i know, fighting betta hav benn ban fr singaporem isn't it? i was accidenttaly found a fighter seller when i m looking for halfmoons.... but, i m not sure he is still selling those fish or not... coz i heard somebody broke into his house juz to get the fish, as far as his concern.. he giv up his hobby to ensure the safety of his family members.... FYI,his location is batu pahat, johor.. ask around at that area.. may b u can get wat u wan..
