Depends on your chassis's airflow lo...
*
nope, i mean the way we mount our HSF... if i use crossbow ss kits should be can mount for both blow direction (upward/backward)..
if use the stock clip on AM2/AM2+ socket for mostly amd mobo will make it blow upward only...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wat i wana make sure is xigmatek cross bow ss kits
icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

1. can use on AM2/AM2+ socket?
2. can use 2gahter with Achilles?

Hmm what u mean by stain anyway.

If paint of course only paint the copper heatpipe which is used to transfer the heat, then aluminum fins dissipate the heats.

more or less will effect haha, eager to try.
*
wat i mean is wat had done on DeepCool product, their copper heat pipe is stain with nikel( if not mistake)

I'm using the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P mobo currently and i am looking for a cooler which will fit in perfectly without any mods or tweaks,as i've heard thr large heatsink on the mobo itself prevent many coolers out there from being installed perfectly  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  .the CM Geminii S caught my attention, but i need to confirm wheter it will fit 1st.

and on the other hand recommend me other coolers out thr which can fit perfectly.
*
can u post ur mobo photo here for reference? smile.gif

Yep,the heatsink had been a problem for many coolers out there.

i done some googling and found a list of coolers suitable for this board

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.as...hreadid=2252023

CoolerMaster V8
CoolerMaster Hyper 212
CoolerMaster Z600
Thermalright TRUE
OCZ Vendetta 2
Thermaltake MaxOrb
ZEROTherm ZEN
ZEROTherm Nirvana
Xigmatek 1284

i'm interested with the Hyper 212 and s1283/1284 now.which is better?
*
vote for xigmatek 1283/1284 thumbup.gif
1283 can take normal version or RS;
1284 can take normal version or Achilles brows.gif

both of thm use 8mm heat pipe and HDT tech; hyper 212 is 6mm heat pipe

sweat.gif sweat.gif
BTW, by the theory of fan CMF, thy should class like this:
DK s1283 > RS s1283 > HDT s1283

DK 89.45CMF, RS 61.375CMF, HDT 56.3CMF

Other casings which has no top exhaust should probably has its PSU on top as top exhaust nod.gif
*
with psu as top exhaust is totally not enuf to handling it, sure will not work as well as other top exhaust fan..., as the psu fan not so high CMF, and it is still hv a room infront psu that will trap the hot air there... unless mod the casing laugh.gif

QUOTE(celciuz Posted Today @ 08:51 AM)
sing 2x 14cm fan on it. Evercool RedScorpion or something. Forgot the brand already.

I disabled one of them when I put it side ways though, cause when the first fan is turned on, the CCF's fan rpm seem to drop a little.. Macam not enough air ._.

Anyways, the difference between idle and load is the same as my other setup facing top. Oh another thing is... I touched my northbridge heatsink and my graphics card heatsink.. which both shows roughly below 40C.. They all felt warm.. But my CCF feels cold >.< although the CPU is idling at 35-40C. When loading at 60C+ also it feels cold @@. Definitely not as warm as the northbridge and the graphic card. Bad thermal transfer from CPU to my CCF? or is it faulty thermal diode? =(.

u r using fan speed controller by CCF? or u direct plug into mobo...??

if u plug into mobo directly, mayb whn u turn on the 1st fan, the cpu temp drop and make the CCF rpm drop?? this is control by smart Q fan inside BIOS (**mayb laugh.gif )

bad thermal transfer?
if u using fan controller, u try slow down the CCF fan speed to minimum for few min, thn try with max speed, see any large diff there....
if no diff the mayb is really bad heat transfer frm ur proc to CCF, but i blive this will not happen.. laugh.gif

Mod the PSU fan brows.gif
*
Attached Image

eg like the red rectangular is our cooler, blow top, thn will part of hot air can blow to psu to exhaust out, but still got another part will trap front of psu there...
unless we mod our casing, add-on fan there, these may help in hot air exhaust...

@celciuz

if u ur fan slow down, the HS still in cool(check the temp too) thn that is really coz by weak heat transfer between proc and cooper base..

but i blive it is not la.. mayb is sensor prob or software prob... hmm.gif

but u say ur CCF touch with other HS rite, will this make ur CCF not enuf tight with the proc?

if possible try post here some photos how u say the other sink(NB+GC HS) is touching ur CCF...

lim , try 2 deltas brows.gif dont forget to put ur headphone on too.

sweat.gif sweat.gif delta super high CMF fan = super high noise...
wat i dun1 is noise.. this combo fan not bad... stock fan 1500RPM max(if no mistake), CM 120mm (69.69CMF) 2000RPM max,
so, the noise is vy low even running at full speed thumbup.gif

QUOTE(Riggo @ Dec 30 2008, 09:00 PM)
Just wondering , how much does a high performance 120mm fan cost? and can the fan stated above be installed into deepcool iceblade? is there much difference between CFF and Iceblade if both of it installed with high performance fan? >< i know im asking too many Qs , sorry for any inconvennienceĀ  >"<
*

  • for sure u need pay more for the high performance fan, if u r tight budget mayb go to garage sale looking for a 2nd'hand unit.. icon_rolleyes.gif

  • IceBlade PRO & CCF both come with fan clip, thy can supported to any 120mm x 120mm x 25mm fan.. nod.gif

  • diff btween CCF and IceBlade?? this u need looking up for the review doing by bro coolice,
if not mistaken, CCF perform beter thn IceBlade, but IceBlade can do push-pull to improve the performance smile.gif
both HS hv their advantages... depended on ur own budget and which 1 u like..
p/s: i will post other result aft this, u should noe athlonx2 6000+ is 1 of the heat monster,
but u can refer to my result how the IceBlade handling the temp.. nod.gif

* dun hesitate to ask any question here, feel free to ask any ques smile.gif
as long as the ques can be ans, there will be ans for u.. wink.gif
