QUOTE(nles @ Jan 18 2006, 07:32 PM) I'm using NOD32 now. But there's one virus on all my removable storage devices(pen drive, mp3 player, MMC card), my girlfren bought it back from ukm. NOD32 don't seem able to detect it, even i do a full scan on my system + the storage. But McAfee detected the virus once i plug in my pen drive and deleted it. each brand also got a bit diff from virus def mah. no 1 is best, except urself. try to learn knowledge abot virus, so u can prevent from it. it's better then to use anti virus software. I am a Antivir user all these years. But Somehow I find it annoying that it keeps up poping up when virus detected, then I have to choose what action have to take, then click ok. Maybe the virus is trying a few times to breach, so the antivirus pops up multiple times. I find it annoying.
Is there any better alternative? Maybe some antivirus with automated action and will only show up when I asked for it.

QUOTE(victorboy @ Jan 12 2006, 08:11 PM) Pandasoftware also not that bad..... the best version for the Pandasoftware will be the Platinum version.... there are many thing you can customize...!! dude, this panda will really eating ur RAMs. i prefer BitDefender9 Pro Plus. i didn't find a better AV Software but this one. been using it for 4 years already. the virus can't even have a chance to enter ur pc bcoz this AV will detect and block it first! an excellent AV !!!

Currently i am using ZoneAlarm security suite. It's a complete set including with anti-virus, anti-spyware,firewall etc. So far it's been a real protector for my laptop. Say, i been wondering will it hurt if i can install another antivirus? Does it conflit?

It's not a very hard decision to choose an Antivirus, everyone has their own opinion and why bother what others said? try it out yourself Start with freeware first, if you are a home user and use the Internet with some common sense, it should be sufficient. I've been using Antivir for quite some times (now using the beta 7) and can't really remember when was the lastime my PC infected by virus. It's not easy to get infected by virus unless you always get files from untrusted source or visit malicious sites.
