QUOTE(moon* @ Feb 2 2005, 10:24 AM) hehe true true... yeah.. true... juz downloaded it and it running good. but slow at startup and scanning... using the lowest setting to play games. kaspersky is indeed one superb antivirus program, so far.. loving it!.. u can set the settings to perform recommended task so tat u dun hav to click the option when sumthin virus/bug are found. |

i got some question to ask ,and i was plan to make a poll ,but since we cant open a new topic about AV ,then never mind.
if you wanna install a new AV ,will u uninstall the old one then on9 and update the new one , or install and update the new AV ,then baru uninstall the old one? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i think most people will choose 1st option ,but will anyone do the 2sd option? will it safer?i scare the two AV will fight each other ... |

QUOTE(rukawa @ Dec 27 2004, 02:38 AM) hmm...looks like none is a user of trend-micro pc-cillin. Well so far works fine for me. Detects .js viruses unlike norton when going on a certain page! yeah, my norton Corp editon cant do tat,but Anti-Vir can detect (use it in Office), i'm confused, so many ppl recommend so many anti-viruses in this thread, i d/l Kaspersky, seems like resource hog, loading time also lag, anti-vir seems ok , maybe will use that to replace my ageing symantec corp 2000 |

just tried bit defender 8 pro, DAMN it was HELL !!!, first all it was a resource hogger (44 MB), and then the trouble i had to go through just to remove it !!!!, startup of Windows was slow, so I tried to stop it from running, then tooook a looong time and then i couldnt even open My Computer !, tried removing it but tat didnt help, halfway thru it displayed the BSOD and quickly restarted my PC, further attempts of removing it again proved unsuccessful,so i tried a system resote bcoz maybe my reg corrupted, tat didnt work either, system restore failed to restore and now i deleted it manually, but I still can't delete 1 file 'bdshelxt.dll', it says access denied and tat a prog might be using it, it's the shell extension file for bit defender i think, ialready removed all it's components from starting up but can't seem 2 del tthis file, anyway it might be tat this prob is happening bcoz of either my Rig (office PC actually
edit: found out thru Bit Defender site on how to remove the file and completely uninstall it This post has been edited by mastervj: Mar 22 2005, 05:53 PM |

I was testing AVAST, and i noticed that the speed of downloading in limewire being reduced tremendously to 4-5KBps (compared to 40-50KBps before this)
I uninstalled it and install antivir back, everything back to normal Anyone can clarify this with me? |

Yup....that is the problem
I have the firewall, I have spyware scanners already All I need is just a simple antivirus I don't need another all-in-one antivirus that provides all the repeated features in my firewall and spyware detectors I'm using antivir happily now |

I face the same problem too, when using AVAST PC slow down I uninstalled it and use back AVG. Problem is AVG kenot detect virus or Trojan better than AVAST.
