To replace Norton, me tried McAfee Internet Security Suite, walanyea updating the suite is really a pain in the a55!
Each of them need to be updated seperately and each update require a restart! Yesterday until not dunno restart how many times already, now still updating QuickClean. And the dem so-called anti-spyware report so many posivite false entries (even the tightVNC, which me need to reinstall it >_<) but failed to clean the stupid "sypwarestrike" trojan eventhough it detect it! Spyware Doctor is wayyyyy better than McAfee's so-called Anti-Spyware... Doesn't really worth the dem price tag of RM220 @#%^##@@$%~!!! This post has been edited by Pip_X: Mar 1 2006, 11:25 AM |

that's why i like pirate software. We paid for something not satisfy for ourself if we bought original one. We knew it, pirated cd having a little problem. Thats OK because we choose it.
A few year ago, i bought original Mcafee and norton antivirus. And then, both of antivirus showing not very well performance. Switch to Avast HOMe edition and it's performance much better than Mcafee or Norton. Sometime, i think about it's. Why should we bought expensive one if we can get free one ? And now, i'm using AVAST Home Editon. On planning to switch AVG. sorry for broken english. |

McAfee too troublesome to use. Not only the updating process is a realpainin the a55, the antivirus and antispyware do not completely remove all virus and spyware it detected plus it report too many positive false, rendering my too important TightVNC, mysql and web server dun run properly anymore, eventhough me had already allow those program to have internet access in the McAfee setting.
Me gonna remove this stupid McAfee and reinstall back Norton. Sorry Symantec, for being unfaithful to you >_< T_T |

Fark McAfee cant even provide real-time virus protection!
Last time when me insert a virus-infested memory card into my card reader, NAV terus warn me about the virus and deleted it. BUT NOT WITH MCAFEE! Nothing happen when me using McAfee! The dem virus files still there in my memory card! Like this already failed 9 jor my little test. Me installed Norton again, unfortunately it ask me for the renew code... Watafak is that? Any other AV that provide REAL-TIME virus protection like Norton? Edit: jon89, if u using widcomm driver, u go to your startup folder in your start menu see see? Should have a BTTray there, if dun have, simply go to widcomm program files then make a shortcut to startup. Or try go to windows task manager, then end process of BTTray.exe, then restart it (the program is at widcomm program files, usually C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software/BTTray.exe) If u not using Widcomm, then sorry cant help T_T This post has been edited by Pip_X: Mar 1 2006, 11:05 PM |
