there's a dvd on the 'reunion' of anthrax with belladonna...doing some concert somewhere and dan spitzx back on guitar...that one is pretty cool! another video of Anthrax that i liked was they did a gig in Hammersmith Odeon UK back in the late 80s...personally i stopped listening to Anthrax when Joey left the band...Anthrax used to have this 'fun' attitude which i guess got lost when Joey lost...luckily Scott Ian is still there to bring in the noise.

after watching it, i kinda have the impression that that thrash metal was inevitable invented by Dave Mustaine when he wanted to go heavier than any bands of that time :>

and there's another cool documentary back in the early 90s about the thrash bay area scene...forgot the titl, but it showcased all the great bands of the era. oh how i miss those days!!!

luckily now we have Arch Enemy - to me this band is really bringing back all the metal glory with great riffs, pounding drumbeats, damn melodic solos and powerful vox sung by a relativelyh hot babe! - coz i'm sick of all these silly nu-emo-metal crap where eveyone wanna play low notes and no guitar solos at all!

I can see some old band like Nebiras (Farid still active yea?.. wow), Jaie band (you know whom ), Atannaz  (Kitanaichi, long time no see this guy! heh..), Def Gab C drummer, Mr Lee Space (Rator), Ayong (Stompin' Ground, Mr King (Metalasia), Mr Ibrisam Akhbar @ Sam  (Langsuyr) etc.. etc... huhuhuhuuhuh

Impiety, a singaporean black metal band nowadays has become a big band... i remembered when the last time armageddon album was hitted the world metal music back in 1999 and they did a lot of tour worldwide after that.. They're now influencing a lot of norwegian, finnish and swedish band too

maybe you should listen to experimental industrial + dark + techno + black metal (mixed in their music) band like Dodheimsgard too
