QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Sep 8 2010, 12:59 AM) Try Exodus and Anthrax. Floatsam and Jetsam and Voivod are great too if you don't mind to slightly step outside of thrash metal. yes thanks mate for your suggestion.. If you got guts try to enter this contest and you might win the Dave Mustaine new autobiography and imported Endgame CD. Contest already listen to exodus first album and anthrax just finished download Fistful of Metal (1984) Spreading the Disease (1985) Among the Living (1987) State of Euphoria (1988) Persistence of Time (1990) Sound of White Noise (1993) Stomp 442 (1995) Volume 8: The Threat Is Real (1998) ok try to layan first |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Sep 15 2010, 06:45 PM) Mike is on the road touring with 'that' band for promoting their latest album. Not a good sign, but it is interesting for DT since people said Mike have too much influence and ego regarding DT musical direction. so, who would replace him? Bobby Jarzombek? Sean Reinert?Added on September 16, 2010, 6:55 am QUOTE(Burnn @ Sep 16 2010, 02:27 AM) Yup. I'm a huge fan. You can't go wrong with Testament. Great band, great music and great legacy. One unfairly underrated bands out there. The partnership between Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick, while not as flashy as Hammet and Hetfield, Mustaine and ________ (insert names), still stay true to metal roots and philosophy. While Chuck Billy.. What can I can I say.. Never a dull moment. Great live band too. well, i'm more to thrash metal stuff like Megadeth old classic album Check out the first four albums: The Legacy, The New Order, Practice What You Preach and Souls Of Black. Of course, don't forget The Formation Of Damnation. While for Heavy Metal, if you graduated with Iron Maiden, then the logic choice is, what else other than the mighty Judas Priest. i love thrash metal, heavy metal because some reason,
hahaha most of them wrote the songs and lyrics by themself, and the song so good takes a lot of talent, and is generally the heaviest music, and how they can perform live, it's amazing to play the instruments and to do live show(usually 1 hour and more ) need more energy and stamina.. and still they can perform very well without missing any notes from the records, guitar solo, I think it's an awesome genre, and requires a lot of talent. I love the feeling from hearing some kickass riffs and well-written vocals. long live metals.. |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Oct 18 2010, 08:36 PM) not familiar with Euro metal band, but Hellowen have some melodic tune combined with metal like Scorpions. thanks for the feedback.. talk about scorpions, i do love their music style. good powerful ballads songs to enjoy rudofl schenker in the interview on the 'World Wide Live' video, he mentioned that his goal is not to become the best or fastest guitarist, but to be a very good composer. and Mustaine attributed his choice of the Flying V guitar to being a fan of UFO's Michael Schenker when he was growing up. |

----- "In War And Pieces", the title track of the new album from German thrash metal veterans SODOM, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. will be released in North America on January 11, 2011 and in Europe on November 22, 2010 via SPV/Steamhammer. "In War And Pieces" track listing: 01. In War And Pieces 02. Hellfire 03. Through Toxic Veins 04. Nothing Counts More Than Blood 05. Storm Raging Up 06. Feigned Death Throes 07. Soul Contraband 08. God Bless You 09. The Art Of Killing Poetry 10. Knarrenheinz 11. Styptic Parasite never listen to SODOM before, so it's good or not? |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Oct 19 2010, 01:38 PM) Shawn Drover maybe not technical and agressive as Nick Menza or Jimmy DeGrasso but he keep the timing well and his playing is close to the original recording without any extra drum fill which is something that Mustaine like. Hahahahahahahahaha...QUOTE The Great Southern Brainfart: When I asked Tom Hunting of EXODUS about his drumming technique, he had this to say: "One of the things he learned was that the faster you hit the snare with as much force as possible and the sooner you get out, the more it's gonna resonate. I tried to teach Drover that, but he, you know, he's stuck in his glam metal. [laughs]" Would you care to comment on that? Drover: [smiles and shakes his head] The thing about Tom is that he has tree trunks for arms. The guy hits with such insane velocity and power that it's just… What can you say? The guy's brutal. He's a huge influence on my playing. When I discovered thrash, EXODUS was right up there with all the bands like METALLICA, SLAYER and ANTHRAX. Right off the bat I was a big fan of Tom's playing. He's a completely original thrash metal drummer. His rolls and the drum fills that he does are amazing, I think. I didn't realize until we toured with them in 2004 how hard he hits the snare. The drum set he's got now is a Yamaha and he's got probably the loudest snare, I would say, in the world. I've never heard a snare that loud where it was like crushing my head. I'm sure he took great joy in hitting a little bit harder just to piss everybody off because his snare sounded so f***ing awesome. Tom's a great drummer, but I do have better hair than he does, so you can tell him that from me! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(CargoCult @ Nov 26 2010, 02:59 PM) Very few Black metal bands actually worship Satan, anyway. They use Satan as a symbol, a metaphor against religion. They are anti-religion. They don't believe in a God or a Devil. It's only symbolism. Satanism has two branches. Lavayan Satanism (symbolic, the worship of self. Forms the vast majority of proclaimed [I]Satantists) and Theistic Satanism (The worship of the character Satan as portrayed in Abrahamic texts, accounts for a very small amount) The vast majority of Black Metal fans who call themselves Satanists, I expect fall into the symbolic worshipers. Antichrist? Added on November 26, 2010, 2:09 pm well, lyrics frome Megadeth's Peace sells, "What do you means i dont believe in God?i'm talk to Him everyday..." |

QUOTE(Hou_JaI @ Nov 29 2010, 09:16 PM) metal scene is pretty slow now a days ... no new materials coming out ... the latest good album that i am listening to is "as i lay dying - The PowerLess Rise", any good recommendation? QUOTE On November 17, 2010, Dave Mustaine has officially announced in the Megadeth Cyber Army Chat Room that Megadeth will soon be recording their 13th album in Vic's Garage (Megadeth's Studio). Dave Mustaine said these words about the new upcoming album; "So, right now I have Ken Eisennagel, you may remember him from the last two records doing engineering for all of the pre-production phases of Megadeth records? Well, he is here [Megadeth’s studio - Vic's Garage] going over all of the new Megadeth stuff that I am working on… believe it or not we have five songs almost finished for the new Megs record already!"[108] The album name and release date is still to be announced. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE I think when it comes to writing credits, the fact that someone wrote a solo for a song does not appear to be enough reason to receive a credit for it, there are thousands of examples of how solos have definitely been written by musicians who have received no credits for the writing of the song. But we don't need to look far to see an example of this, pick up any metallica album and you will see most of the songs have no writing credits for Hammett even though we know he wrote the solo... One dude comes up with the song structure, works everything out and says "hey marty, chuck a solo in their approx 32 seconds long"... in that case the guitarist still wrote the solo but doesn't deserve any writing credits for the song. This seems to be the attitude of most bands, unless you think ulrich and hetfield wrote the solo for "One" I don't think guitarists should receive writing credits for writing solos either. its about the song, if you want recognition for your solo put it in the footnotes. obviously this does not apply to yngwie malmsteen type music. can someone comment on this quote? someone from forum metalstorm said this.. just want to know your opinions ok thanks |
