It was all Mustaine’s idea. Seriously. That’s why Megadeth are still a thrash metal band. Because that’s what he does. I’m not sure that Metallica are entirely sure what they are these days. about the solo part on megadeth album, it's also writing by dave mustaine and he gave to marty to play or marty just play solo usng his own idea?

and how about others thrash metal bands?

Friedman usually wirte his own solos in Megadeth but he rarely get credited. I dont understand Megadeth credit style. I dont believe if all songs written solely by Dave Mustaine as stated in the credit. But sometime Dave gave some idea to Marty because he's the main songwriter.
