whenever i on the pc..the cpu starts but the monitor is blank.
i have to shutdown using the on button, then i on back
is ok everything is running got display.

evertime even after install any software that needs restart, it restarts but with blank screen
i have to press off then on it back = ok no problem

power supply problem?

are u using windows xp pro ?

list out ur spec of ur pc.it might been ur system

changing gc recently?

from wat i observe maybe is your GC problem.
i have that kind of experience.
What you can do is...

1st, take out your GC and use a blower to clean the dust..maybe it is the dust problem.

2nd, try take our your GC and use the integrated on board VGA and see whether the problem persist.

3rd. check your VGA cable, maybe its too old and unable to trasmit data.

4th. Maybe is your monitor near the end of life.

TS, are u using ori windows xp pro ?

i think it's not pirated winxp prob since the problem came up when he turn on the pc not when in windows env..

but once on no problem at all
24 hour oso can run..all games can play
original sticker got stick
but install ............

i will try to take out the gc n clean it

this is NOT software problem
latest WGA only blank out the background and icons, while leaving the taskbar visible. those who not sure of how it works please do not give wrong solution.

to TS, i have similar problem, whenever my system restarts, the power LED will be turned off but the HDD LED will still be on. just reset it then it would be fine. not sure what the problem is, but i don't perceive that as a "problem". interestingly, i am using Socket A processor and mobo too. i kinda suspect that it may be caused by my mobo (it isn't a good mobo imho, keep giving me troubles besides this 1)

but to anyone who has the proper solution, please let me know too. thanks in advance

u tell ppl not sure do not give wrong solution? i see ur s not any solution oso.

i am not giving any solution coz i dunno any, but i can be sure that it is NOT WGA problem. hence i choose to keep quiet rather than saying that it's the new WGA problem

wat makes u so sure since u hv no constructive solution?
