Bro, on the 600/610, in order to get multichannel SACD, can we use HDMI? I read somewhere we can only use the multichannel analogue outs. Is it true?

My PS3 was the original 80GB version that supports SACD, I can use the HDMI for multichannel SACD.

Theoretically, yes, but depending on the input or recording....It wont be up to bluray scale.
Ppl. always say, shit goes in, shit comes out. To get the very best in video images, I usually download bluray (.mkv) stuff and convert to DVD using convertxtodvd.
Easy to say, image will be slightly better than normal dvd...thats all.

Yeah, can burn using the ConvertXtoDVD. But the 720p/1080p resolution of the MKV will be downconverted to 480p, just like a normal DVD. Maybe better color and black level, but ultimate details and sharpness will be lost. The best way to enjoy MKV in it's original HD resolution is by using an HD media center, like the recently released WD, or the HDX, PopcornHour, etc. Or can remux to MP4 header and watch it on the PS3.

Even though the XDE is not a complete failure, but it certainly not as successful as I thought it would be. I've been waiting for this player since months ago, I've already settled the 708, so it's too late. My DV400 is now taking the job in the bedroom. wink.gif

If the TV is at least HD ready than you'll see the benefit of an upscaling HDMI DVD player. You can still upscale the 480i DVD native resolution to 720p/1080i.
