checking on the green dot is one of the way.
but for me, i find it a bit ermm, well, i spent too much time looking at the green dot and not the composition or the 'moment'

it's useless to me

I'd prefer D90 over D300.
D300 ISO 1600 already very muddy.
*
both of them are different type of camera lerr.
but if hobbyist, i would recommend the d90 too. cheaper mah

QUOTE(kernel @ Feb 9 2009, 02:06 AM)
Sorry if this has been mentioned before in this thread, but I have a problem with my d40 - the ccd has become very insensitive, meaning when I take a photo, it turns out extremely dark to the point of almost pitch black (although the light meter is exactly in the middle).

To get a photo with "normal" exposure I have to compensate by +5.0 manually (and by this time I would need crazy exposure settings of more than a second to snap something well lit  =.= .)

ISO, aperture and shutter speed have been all checked - also tried resetting the camera but to no avail.

Any help, guys?
*
look at your exposure compensation. it might be at -5.0 dude

Actually it's at +5.0, that's the only way i can get a pic with neutral exposure.
*
that is why i am saying. look at your exposure compensation or bracketing function.
it might be set at -5.0

But he already said that he set it to +5.0 wor. Then how can it be at -5.0?  hmm.gif
*
the function is at -5.0
thats why he needed to +5.0 in order to get back to normal
