how bad is it?

if have difficulty to turn or slow to accelerate in speed 1 it is usually the start/run capacitor that is failing.

if squeaky noise it would be the motor shaft bearings.

the least likely would be the motor windings.

of the 3 possible faults or possible problem, the capacitor is the easiest to deal with. but it will involve dismantle the fan motor housing, identify the capacitor and check/replace the faulty capacitor.
may require skills like soldering to join wire/terminal.

for bearing and motor issue, usually it is not worth the trouble to fix. i'll let it work until it doesnt work.

could be capacitor. will need to check the capacitance, need special multimeter for that.

if diy skill no good, dont bother
