some question how great he going to be, we all know he need to outshine messi, iniesta or xavi something that eto find really hard to do to win any awards for best player and so on..

for a very big player like him to play as a striker, his movement was fantastic never in my doubt that interms of that plus his skill and goal scoring instinct he arguably the best in the world at what he do and not to mention he is a team player as well..

some even refer him to be the next mvb..well, for someone that highly rated playing for barca is a must, cant wait for the season to start.. nod.gif

Are u serious?? IMHO ibra isn't that marketable.. For that, we have messi..LoL

But seriously guys, am i the only one with doubts with the new striker? I think it'll look better if our front line is

Ibra-Henry-Messi

or

Henry-Ibra
---Messi---

Coz i dun see how Ibra could be banging goals like eto'o, i still figure him more of a playmaker than a goalscorer..
I think the second formation migh be what pep has planned, remember mid way thru last season he said he planned to revert to 4-4-2 this season.
Man i hope its not true, 4-4-2 is boring stuff..

Added on July 30, 2009, 2:25 amoh, and did anybody hear that Cacares might be headed to Juven?

we only have 80ME budget this summer and the remaining money will be spend for a midfielder, remember we have problem there where Keita and Toure will left
so what happen to our tradition 4-3-3, i more prefer we stay 4-3-3 tiki taka rather than 4-4-2 crossing heading style

yeah heard that too, Masc really angry after his wife didn't get visa or something which cost she cant live in Britain
btw according to El Mundo Deportivo we will try to sign either Cesc or Masc

QUOTE
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona is determined to sign a midfielder during the summer transfer window.

Strengthen the midfield positions would be one of the priorities of Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola, although the profile of the player the club is looking for is not yet clear and the club doubts between a player with more defensive or more offensive qualities.

The two main candidates would still be Liverpool defensive midfielder and Argentine international Javier Mascherano (25) and Arsenal midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas (22).

While Mascherano would be a natural substitute for Yaya Touré if the Ivorian midfielder leaves for the Africa Cup next January, Cesc would offer the coach the chance to move Iniesta to the left wing. In that last case, Márquez or Piqué could be used as defensive midfielders.

Yes that is him..

Many might not know this, but Sir Bobby Robson had big shoes to fill in, after he replaced the great Johan Cruyff at Barcelona...

And he won 3 trophies there, including the old Cup Winners Cup...

I have a lot of admiration on Sir Bobby Robson. He, alongside Sir Alex, Sir Matt, Rinus Michels, Jock Stein, Bob Paisley and Bill Shankly are a rare breed of great managers and I salute him for being one of the best...

2010 summer tour in Asia

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona will next year do a pre-season tour in Asia.

The club thinks that after three years a tour is needed to consolidate the club's position in the growing Asian market.

Barcelona would have a fairly strong position in Japan, but would need to strenghten their market share in countries like China, Malaysia and Singapore, that are dominated by English Premier League clubs and especially Manchester United. Because of the 2010 World Expo, Barcelona certainly plans to play a game in Shanghai, the largest city in China.

btw more picture of our great Sir Bobby Robson
