Yes true, it's too expensive for most of us. I didn't see myself also collecting AES, as you said true that it's better to spend on other things.

Maybe we can all find those old arcades and take the boards out , It should be tons out there since the purge in the late 90's on our arcades.
Was thinking of getting and old arcade cabinet and mod it later with MAME, etc ...

funny thing is I found one arcade in Taiping using MAME in their cabinets.... Once you insert the credit, you can choose a game from the menu and play the game.

I've been searching for years now actually.. can get the games but not the cabinet itself

You know, I feel like crying everytime I watch 999 or other TV news broadcast showing police smashing those illegal gambling machines resembling arcade cabinets.

I wonder if we can legally purchase those cabinets instead of them merely being crushed. I bet lots of Sanwa or Seimitsu parts or even JAMMA boards can be salvaged....

As from my research anything that's coin operated need a license.. I could have got one before if not because of this

depends on the button type . talking about mame , i have gotten hold of it aand been using for past week . really nice , though marvel vs capcom is finger pain magnet . lol

Got Boktai from ebay sealed for around USD 9, but shipping was I think USD 12 + ... long time ago.
