QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 23 2009, 10:27 AM) Expensive? I got most of them from bargain bins If you view Batman in action from afar you might think it was a SFC game. The game have big character animation. Got it at a flea market And ya, FC Batman is the best. If I were to get a NES that game will be one of my priorities. Still hum its BGM even these days Haven't seen your collection since your 300+ FC games you posted last time QUOTE(3rotor @ Jul 23 2009, 11:32 AM) where got so many fc games... A few of your collections you got from me right ? I sell at affordable prices one i have nothing much to post la all common stuff left, long time never buy retro games already, no $...... will try to update some pics if i'm free tonight. |

QUOTE(3rotor @ Jul 24 2009, 12:08 PM) Does anybody know how to differentiate ori and fake md/genesis cartridges ? Well 1 way is to look at the PCB board at the end of the cartridge (the part where u blow for NES cart). Originals cartridge PCB are brown in colour, fake are green. My genesis castlevania bloodlines cover is definitely fake but the cartridge looks genuine to me... |

QUOTE(evoHahn @ Jul 24 2009, 04:38 PM) Probably. or get a clone to play the US game. Just get a Famiclone, I got mine for like RM 19.90 or less (can't remember) from Bintang supermarket. But since yours is NES, I think u will need the converter as FC and NES carts are different. I will take pic this evening - but in summary, i got 2 games and 2 systems to add to my collection he he he Another things about those famiclones (famicom on chip), maybe it is just me or I think that the colours are not as vibrant/ colourful as I previously remembered. I have 2 NES by the way, but both also kong ... keep showing me 1 colour on the TV (need to replace the contact points for the cart) |

I think your best bet is to get them online, or get the NES ->FC converter. ---> 3rotor Castlevania looks real (but the best way to confirm is to open the cart (it should have SEGA written in the PCB). QUOTE(chronims @ Jul 27 2009, 03:25 PM) Hahaha yaps susah, XD masa lah Maybe we can all find those old arcades and take the boards out Yes true, it's too expensive for most of us. I didn't see myself also collecting AES, as you said true that it's better to spend on other things. Was thinking of getting and old arcade cabinet and mod it later with MAME, etc ... funny thing is I found one arcade in Taiping using MAME in their cabinets.... Once you insert the credit, you can choose a game from the menu and play the game. |

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 28 2009, 10:37 AM) My personal opinion in this regard is anything that's outdated by the mainstream is considered retro I think the last DC official game was Karous. Didn't get it but tested the lanun version The last official DC game that came out was Under Defeat in 2005, the there are still some home brews coming out this year. GC's production is definitely stopped. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karous QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 28 2009, 10:59 AM) javascript:emoticon('')Well it depends where your collections start I guess. My CD experience actually started only with the PS1 and before that I was in the Nintendo camp. Didn't own a Genesis up until around 5 years back. Sometimes it amazes me that a 15+ years old cart still have the memory saved intact. Most of my collections I source from garage sales or junk sales, where you can see most of them are loose. Doing my part to save a part of gaming history from ending up in landfills. |

QUOTE(chronims @ Jul 28 2009, 12:23 PM) Popular games tend to fetch higher prices in Ebay. Especially if it's attracting people's attention Well until today I can't seem to like Shenmue (either you hate it or love it I guess). I felt the game was too slow and long and with the day/night cycle. I do think it was a technical achievement Goodluck with your Shenmue, it's a revolutionary game indeed. But under USD10 including shipping it's quite tough to get. Unless you're buying the Ntsc/jap version. There's another version of Jap Shenmue called US Shenmue which has the voice in English and Japanese text but this one will fetch a bit higher than USD10 (Last time I saw sold for around USD20). You can also get the Ntsc/u version, but if it's from US the shipping would not be cheap. |

QUOTE(chronims @ Jul 31 2009, 12:11 PM) There's another psx game that you may know as well, it's called Brigandine. I think it's a bit of both Tactics Ogre and Dragon force, so people who likes this genre shouldn't miss this one If I remember correctly both both Ogre battle and Tactics Ogre was released for the super famicom (Ogre battle did managed to get a US release). The PSX version is just a port with English and damn long load time. Not into SLG genre, too many jobs class possibilities .... hurt my head QUOTE(Faidzal @ Jul 31 2009, 07:37 PM) Hey.... I didn't know cash converters stocks games as well. Maybe I take a look I actually like fighters, shooters and puzzle games. Also games like Final Fight/Bare Knuckle-types. All games are easy to get into but hard to master. RPGs take too long to finish, but if I ever play one properly, I may get hooked. It's only coincidental that some of the games are expensive. Some I bought cheap because I know where to look for a bargain (RM12 Cash Converters, thank you very much). Ebay is still a good place to find them too. Anyway, I'd just like to think that once I get tired of gaming, I can at least recoup some of the money back. ---> gundamalpha Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is out for the NDS, got it already for your shin megami collections ? QUOTE(tripleB @ Aug 18 2009, 10:30 AM) I may be wrong, but the PAL version of Shenmue II will not run using AR or DCX. I remember when Shenmue II was close to being released back in 2002, Microsoft suddenly snapped up exclusive publishing right for the North American version of Shenmue II. Which meant that the Dreamcast Shenmue II could not be released in the US. Importing the PAL copy was a no brainer, but I remember reading from a lot of sources that the PAL version can be run only on PAL consoles, or by using a modchip. (Yes, modchips exist for Dreamcast.) Trying to find the original source I read from (National Console Support) but it's not there anymore. Other threads I tried to find disccuss that the game is playable using the bootloader. I don't have an original PAL copy myself, so there's no way to confirm whether it is true or not. I think it depends on your DC as well. I have a Jap DC and played Sonic adventure (PAL) on it using a bootloader disc (which also can be used to play ahem ahem If your DC is manufactured much newer (towards the end of Dreamcast life ~ around 2001 ?? ), Sega took the ability to read normal CD in the GD-ROM drive to fight against piracy. Thus the bootloader will not work since it just a normal CD and you can't boot it to swap the original GD-ROM disc. Best bet, if your DC can play ahem ahem, then it should be able to play any region original GD-ROM disc (using bootloader disc if necessary) Previous I have a PAL DC (blue swirl), made in Indonesia but sold it already. |

QUOTE(Dark NT @ Aug 30 2009, 12:58 AM) I visited the Ampang Point Cash Converter today and bought a number of PS1 games - Biohazard 1, Kagero, Eternal Punishment 2, Saga Frontier 2 and Tenchu ( thanks faidzal and gnusmas for the tip) Just wondering ... those games all are in Japaneses (NTSC-JAP) or in US (NTSC-US) ?One game RM4... its just unbelievable. they have about >100 new & sealed ps1 titles there. most of them are not well known titles except for the above. There are however only a couple of ps2 titles. anyone has any idea what are the titles available in other branches in Klang, Sunway and SEA? Plan to visit these branches maybe next week if there are interesting titles. |
