Hey guys would just like to know if there's any demand for photostating service.

As we know, the price on campus for printing & photostat is RM0.07 per page.

And color printing would be RM2.00 or more?

To help students, I can take orders and deliver to them on campus.

Below would be my proposed pricing, tell me if it's too low. haha

______________________________________

Book Photostating (two sided pages):

1 book = RM0.055 per page
2 to 4 books = RM0.05 per page
5 books & above = RM0.04

*Minimum 200 pages per book.

_______________________________________

Book Photostating (single sided pages):

1 book = RM0.06
2 to 4 books = RM0.055
5 books & above = RM0.05

*Minimum 100 pages per book

_______________________________________

Color photostating (digital printing, quality almost the same as laser) = RM1.20 per page

Photostating includes binding?
*
Binding will be separate cost.

Depends on thickness of book.

It's either comb binding, which is about +/- RM5.00 per book (must use for large books)
Or normal staple binding with plaster, which is cheaper, should be around RM2.50 per book. (for thinner books)

The cost is approximately in that region, not more than RM5 per book. For exact pricing I will post it up on Sunday night.

^ photostat including u finding the books?or must provide books to u?
*
You'll have to provide me the books / materials that you want to photostat.

Therefore please ensure that the books are not short loan books,

Because the photostating for books usually needs 2 working days to complete. It's a slow process, scanning the pages one by one.

Single sided loose material would be faster, can complete in one day for posters.

Hey guys I just met with an unpleasant event today.

Near uni entrance gate, the "unofficial" alternative route into TTS.

About 80 meters away from the junction, I cut off some Indian ahpek on a motorcycle (who was in the middle of the left lane. It's just normal overtaking, as usual resulting from fast driving. Then wanted to turn into the junction. Then instead of turning in, I decided to just go to uni first, thus still keeping to the left most (emergency lane) while going slowly (coz just slowed down to turn).

*Note that this was still at about 30km/h only* Next thing I knew the fella was on my rear right speeding up honking me. I immediately threw a cocky face "what?!" while head bobbing up and down, the cocky way. And oh the nerves of him, wanted me to stop on roadside. So I just played on for few seconds letting him think that I would chicken out and stop. Then I sped up, cut him off again and turn into uni gates.

While checking out my rear mirror he stopped at uni gates and was making a fuss I guess. And of course, he knew better than driving straight through the gates and pass the guards tongue.gif

So everyone, a guide for you when on Malaysian road.

NEVER stop for anything. Even if it looks like a poor old old man asking for directions. Just speed up and go towards safety. Although you might feel guilty for not helping someone who was really in need, it's okay, coz you never know what might happen next, better safe than sorry.

*and if you do have connection with friendly thugs or high ranking police who are on call and can reach within a matter of minutes, then by all means, when you meet suckers like this: throw them a middle finger*

LOL, be careful to do the things in bold. You might get yourself caught into intentional accidents by the other party.

I don't get your story fully.
The person honking you is the Indian ahpek?

I don't see the motive of the others honking you. I do usually take the left most lane because there isn't the yellow stripes that make my car bumps (hate it!). But what's going on the other party?
*
Yeah, that's why I said, only if you know your stand and have immediate connections to the listed, you are privileged to do anything you like tongue.gif

Yeah the indian ahpek was honking me. I have no idea why, maybe because when I cut to the left, he needed to brake & swerve a little (just in case) which caused him to "hate" me a little and caused him to see a window of opportunity for a long awaited fight or some extra petty cash from silly college students that would give in easily to some harsh words?

Added on October 30, 2009, 10:15 pmThis is bad... real bad.. according to the site above posted by experience, it allows network administrators (to a certain extent) to monitor your surfing activities and internet usage trends.. and then take action if it violate the university's internet use policy.. Somebody find a loophole please, LOL

Let's post this in LYN's computing section and see if anyone can advise us on available workarounds? i.e. to maintain our computing privacy

I don't think so. How many of them actually cares about that?
How many of them actually uses the WiFi in Nottingham?
Alright, certainly, there are large users group in using the TISCRA (which I believe the Bradford will lay themselves on as well), but they are using the university computers, they can't complain much.

What I worry is how many things they can do on our MAC address, which is unique to our machine.

Can they actually know our browsing content by checking the packets? e.g. images, files, transmitted private info, etc?

And also.. focus is placed more on the MBA which generates more revenue? tongue.gif

I'm headache and in great dilemma, not sure which to choose: MBA-Finance from Nottingham or MBA Financial from Sunway Manchester.
*
I know this is not really relevant, but I just gotta post it...

Based on the Financial Times Global MBA ranking
http://www.sunway.edu.my/images/stories/MB...anking_2009.pdf

Manchester Business School's MBA programme is ranked no.32, whereas Nottingham's is at the bottom of the list, no.100 .

tongue.gif

Not sure about the UK ranking though, most probably they're almost identical. With either one topping the other by 1 in different rankings.

How reputable is Financial Times Global MBA ranking by the way.

I have also checked on other ranking resources for these 2 uni but I see Nottingham does win handsome ranking than Manchester does.
*
Not sure about the rankings, some project a different result than the other.

Since both are renowned institutions, you shouldn't have a doubt. Probably just research more into their program structure and how it's conducted in entirety, as well as the general professional background of students. Find which one is more to your liking/suits your progression.

Nah. From what I heard, delivery to campus isn't directly inside-- someone has to walk out to the gate or something and pick up the order, IIRC.
*
Yep it's usually delivered to the back gate, the one next to the mosque. You'll see lots of students waiting there at certain times.
