I stay at Sri Petaling too. Strange, my connection is good. I finished downloading 700MB movie in less than 2 hrs. Which part of Sri Petaling are having low bandwidth problem?
I am having CINR(19,19) in front of the windows facing the base station at the Sri Petaling dam.

How many base station installed at Sri Petaling area? I know one of the base station installed at the Sri Petaling dam.
So, pls face your CPE toward the Sri Petaling dam in order to get good signal.

I tested many places in my house and i found out that i get the best signal strength at my room's window. Of course, if i place the CPE outside my house, which is the balcony without roof facing the Sri Petaling dam get the maximum strength, ie. CINR(22,22) or CINR(23,23).

If you are using usb modem, the only way to get good signal is sit nearer to the windows.
If you are using CPE, try to place it nearer to the windows. As i mentioned b4, face it to the base station direction will get the strongest signal strength.

When i first subscribed to Amax in October, 2008, i am one of the early subscriber at Sri Petaling area. The only place that have strongest signal strength is my room which is facing the base station at Sri Petaling dam.
Nowaday, i think Amax has installed more base station and whole Sri Petaling area is covered, no matter front or back of your house. So, i guess as long as it is nearer the window will get good signal strength.
Am i right, sexualpower?

Determine the best signal strength place in your house and connect the wireless router to the CPE so that you can surf net or download at any location in your house.

download speed was extremely low at sri petaling last night. speed test doesn't reflects the actually situation, i would say. i streamed movie from PPS (PP Stream) and i couldn't finish watching the entire movie due to low download speed.

any more feed back from sri petaling area?

I told my friend how good and how fast Amax is. I told them to swicth to Amax as Amax doesn't have Fair Usage Policy like P1. With the low bandwidth situation right now, i wonder my friend still believe what i've told them.

SexualPower, you need to remind Amax to resolve the current situation as soon as possible. If not, Amax may loses many potential subscriber in Sri Petaling area.

Added on October 26, 2009, 2:19 pmWhen i see the 'Cut Now' advertisement from P1, i think of switch to P1. when i think carefully, i remain with my Amax as Amax provide unlimited usage for their subscibers.
Actually i tried P1 for 7 days last time and their connection not bad. I wonder how is P1 connection in Sri Petaling area right now.

sexualpower, forward your customer feedback to Amax techincal partner, Huawei. Huawei is the company who provide all the base stations and wimax technology to Amax. I think they know better than Amax technician.

I did that last time. Then Huawei sent their Senior Engineer from shenzhen main office to my house to trouble shoot my problem.

sexualpower, apparently this low bandwidth problem was caused by the Network Upgrade done recently, 2 weeks ago. I did receive their sms saying that network upgrade in progress started from 1200 midnight until 8am the next morning.

I was downloading movie using bittorrent and didn't shut down the modem until the next morning. After that, i have problem streaming from youtube. Always get connection error at the first time i load the youtube page. Have to wait and buffering b4 i can watch the youtube page.

B4 the upgrade, loading the youtube page is smooth and no buffering required. I always proud to tell my friend that i dont need buffering each time i watch youtube video.

Anymore feedback from Sri Petaling area? Share your experience here so that sexualpower can compile in a list and send to Amax.

Added on October 26, 2009, 5:59 pmFyi, the sms sent by Amax dated on 2 Oct. i received it at night 9.28pm. Saying that, there will be service interruption on 3 Oct from 0000 to 0600 due to optimization of their network.
Strange, my bittorrent download was smooth without any interruption that night.

sexualpower, Amax data center located at TPM. I went there with the Huawei engineer b4. Located at Patimas, TPM.

Please talk to Amax technical team to resolve our slow download speed problem as soon as possible. If they don't take action, i will shoot an email to Huawei manager in charge of Wimax business in Asia Pacific region.
I believe Huawei Wimax Team won't ignore our complaint as Huawei is the only technical partner of Amax in Malaysia.

Conclusion, problem not resolved yet. We wait and suffer.

May be i should switch to Jaring. Jaring offer rm68 for 1mbps, both wired and wireless. I believe the broadband quality in Malaysia sucks all the time no matter who is the service provider. I don't know why. You tell me if you know the reason. The wise decision will be choosing the cheapest one, eventually.
