QUOTE(SSJBen @ Sep 21 2008, 10:57 AM) Depends on how much you are going to sell your 40GB. I'm rather sure that you will not be able to sell it anymore than RM1100 or so, even that price is a lil stretch. what u said totally rite , there is no reason for us to change from PS3 ( SG unit ) to PS3 ( MY unit ) just to get the Malaysia Warranty...for me i dont see any special bout the MY unit , just same as my current PS3...so now i just planning to collect some money to upgrade bigger HDD.The core-80GB for Malaysia is about RM1550-RM1600 currently, so you'll still need to plunge down RM300-RM400 atleast for the new model. What you get basically, is just warranty from Malaysia. Personally, I say keep that RM300+ and buy a bigger HDD for your current PS3 instead. |

QUOTE(Twin_Sparx @ Sep 21 2008, 06:38 PM) hi guys, another newbie here who got the ps3 yesterday at the launch. having had experience using the psp, i found the initial setup a breeze. However, when i wanted to register to psn, the system mentioned that i needed to do a system update first. it may be ur internet connection..sometimes the playstation website also kindda slow..cause there is a lot of people using it...the best way to do the update are using the PC , download the update to ur thumbdrive...then update ur PS3 by using the thumbdrive...invoking the system update feature, it said the new firmware was 2.43. ok, so i then proceeded to do a system update. It connected to server, then after 30mins, only had 1% progress, then stopped with an error connecting to server. why is this so? i tried 3 times and still can't get the blasted thing updated! pls help here is some link might useful to u : http://ps3explained.com/advanced/folder-structure/ |

QUOTE(Zeliard @ Sep 22 2008, 07:32 PM) Anyone know where can I get a HDMI DVI adapter?? Maybe somewhere in Ipoh as it is my nearest city? I sent hunting today, and none of the retailers from where I came from knew what HDMI was. Ther furthest I went was to Tesco Kampar, where the "electronic sales specialist" in charge of Sony Bravia LCD TV never even heard of a HDMI. here in KL the HDMI to DVI cable kindda easy to get , like kacang putih....they dont know what HDMI ? sad |

QUOTE(vorchiel @ Sep 26 2008, 09:56 PM) Someone stated that the Msian set is CECHK (65nm CELL & RSX, thus lower power consumption & cooler than earlier models) glad to hear that , at least Malaysia PS3 runs cooler cause both Cell / RSX are 65nm...Starting CECHJ upwards all Cell and RSX using 65nm..There are 40GB set with 65nm or 90nm RSX chip. To be sure, just check the model number. You can go to this site to get SKU comparison. But if I were you, I'll just buy the official Msian version, because of the warranty |

QUOTE(jyth_82 @ Oct 2 2008, 09:36 AM) ah ha... not sure but does the any shop provides the similar warranty to Sony Sytle? if u buy sony playstation 3 80gb malaysian edition , u will get 1 year warranty.Doesnt matter where u buy the console. As long as u registered the console via online then it should be no probs.Just bought a DS3 controller from them (the Curve)... they mention 1 year warranty with it.. also, there is a nice HT set which offers 3 HDMI in and 1 HDMI out... looks schweet...for those who intend to get the 5.1 out from the PS3 .... am looking for review now... Added on October 3, 2008, 9:48 am QUOTE(panda-man @ Oct 2 2008, 09:33 AM) has anyone updated to the new firmware yet. ive checked it on the site and its v. 2.43. just wondering if everything is ok. im kinda paranoid after everyones ps3 kaput. after 2.40 is it safe? i do believe the lens prob 100% not because of the firmware...and yes v 2.43 totally safe , as long as u downloaded it from playstation official site , it should be okey.as sony make a statement : the firmware will not harm the console (PS3).
