PSB is always bang for the buck. The Alpha B1's are really surprising considering the price.

The prices are the same MSRP as per the previous Image series for T5, T6, B5 and B6. Google this you will find they are the same.

Added on July 18, 2009, 11:39 amI have only one concern about the new image series, the B5, B6 and the center have rear ported bass reflex design...I was going away from this due to placement issues if you have space constraints.

Need to wait and audition when they arrive hear in Malaysia and I beleive they will be very good and sales should be brisk from the looks itself. biggrin.gif

I can say on the looks factor they already score high points. There are no screws in sight. I wonder how did they secure the woofer and tweeter to the baffles?...

Double sided tape? tongue.gif

tongue.gif ...maybe just maybe the woofer and tweeter are secured on to the mdf box first and then the front baffle is secured on with screws used at the grill holes, and oh also using double sided tape... biggrin.gif

What front you pair with your C1 bro?
*
My HT set is like a misfit of brands tongue.gif . I am now only starting to get into HT so kinda not up to par with you guys for now. My fronts for now are Yammy NS50-F bought from forumer 1 year ago (time flies). Rear are PSB Aplha B's (my ex stereo speakers, bought new 3 years ago). Was missing the center so got the Alpha C1 today. Next will look out for PSB or other better fronts (in time to come). Sub is whaferdale 208, also bought from forumer like 2 years ago. The amp i have cambridge audio 340R also from forumer here, just 2 months ago.

Arent they all like rojak. laugh.gif The end result to me at the moment not bad compared to the sony DAV 500 HTIB I had before. Big difference and kinda happy untill i get poisoned with a better setup. I dont really watch that many movies at home mainly still very much into stereo / music.

Added on August 26, 2009, 2:12 amAny one of you Alpha B or B1 owners tried the speakers with the grills removed? If got how do they sound compared with the metal grils in place. I read some where that you can remove the metal grills but have to be vey careful to do this.

Alpha T1 Tower
Alpha B1 Monitor
Alpha C1 Center

If I am not mistaken the prices after discount (not RRP) are

T1 = RM 1250
B1 = RM 650
C1 = RM 550

If you take all most likely with get further discount not to foeget your nego skills biggrin.gif

meddle u mustn't. hard to come out the grill is. lower the resale value will be if grill can't stick back properly. may the force be with u

Wah your reply at 5.28 am.

Your Jedi mind tricks dont work on me and stop waving your hand evertime you say that:P

I dont realy plan to upgrade so soon but you never know. Resale value at the moment not realy on my mind but your advise is sound. So kinda itchy to see how they would look without the grills in my actual surrounding. For now i will try to resist the temptation.

I am really running on budget , can I use 2 pairs of B1 and a sub to set up a 5.1 ? ie . 2 B1 as L/R and another 2 as surround and and a sub have to come later when finance improve  hmm.gif
*
You can but my personal advise dont do it. If you going for HT then you will need a SUB since the B1's can't give you the lower HZ. This all depends on your room or hall area too. Why dont you get a SUB and just 2 B1's first. Later when you have the Finance get better fronts and use the B1's as your surround. Think about getting used HIFI stuff?. Thats what I did and less strain on the pocket.

Anyone using Alpha LR1 as surround? May I know how's the performance?
*
I read in some reviews not bad. Maybe google abit on this. If space is an issue then LR1 would be a good idea depending on the price. If the price difference between B1 and LR1 not that much different then maybe think about your original idea. Later you can sell one pair of B1's when you upgrade the fronts.
