Ampun Belphegor, lemme answer question then end of story k?
IMHO, part of the fun of COD4 for me is being able to modify my characters with perks. It provides individualism and WTH, more fun!
Eventhough lots of people complain that some guns/perks are for noobs etc etc, if you notice carefully, most of the guns/perks balances each other out. There is no ultimate best gun or best perks. There are pros n cons for each gun/perk. For eg, skorpion some say is a fully auto sniper rifle, cuz its darn accurate, even at long range. But fact is, unless u r static or rushing in a straight line towards d skorpion user, most likely d skorpion guy is gonna run out of bullets (if you zig zag or hide), and d longer reloading time means its ur chance to get closer. Another eg. is the perk SP & Jugger, Claymores/c4s & bombsquad, basically cancel each other out. Heck even usage for jammer n ec for rushers like me has its cons, which is to sacrifice health n noise. Some ppl also say steady aim is gay, but btw two steady aim users, which most ppl will use this perk anyway, isn't it ultimately a game of skill?
So all in all, in a 5v5 matchup, it is basically trying to understand your opponents and/or designing your strategy with the available perks to counter/achieve your objective. If there is any banned to enforce, i rather think it should be a ban on the number of same perks a team is allowed. Afterall, you don't want 5 ppl wit EC popping up your at your spawn site before you can say 'go, go, go', or 5 ppl claymoring the whole of bombsite A to blow it sky high. Do we?
That being said, i still do agree that there are some imba in perks n guns, namely p90 (with its run bug) and 3x frag/special, which by the way is already banned in most compy.
With Pam4, most guns are banned, and i can't help but realise how organisers are just using the CS as a benchmark/backdrop for COD4 compys. Might as well banned SP as well, i don't see a point in having 1. Just play with the guns with bandolier.
Food for thought, lets say we turn things around, shouldn't CS ban M16 (too powerful), AK47 (too powerful), FAMAS (ez to get HSs) and the AWP (1 shot kill, even in the toes)? afterall its too imba that the rest of the guns are practically not used.
Am i not right? Who s the last one who ever saw a player use the 'watergun' (4got its real name) in a real competition?
Anyway, yes it seems that i am whining bout it. But i'm just giving my 2 cents worth, before sucking it up n gearing up 4 wateva compys which uses these rules... So cheers and end of story.
