Wishing for a few Nebo hierichonticus to land themselves in my room.wub.gif
Some reasons why they give me sleepless nights.

1. A pic. (courtesy of AKRABUT)
2. A few more pics, from a mating attempt. (courtesy of Skywalker)
3. A damn good read about the genus Nebo.

In an unrelated news! A Hottentotta Hottentotta was sighted making it's way back home for the Hari Raya celebrations last weekend. Onlookers followed curiously as it made it's journey across Sitiawan, trailing up north into the neighbouring country. The journey back to Ghana is thought to take more than a few years for the little critter.

Selamat Hari Raya guys. Drive safe. laugh.gif

Junshern - try leaving your little bug without food for 1 week+. If it stops expanding/start slimming down. You'll know what to say of it. An AFS gestation period is rather long, they don't bulge up over a few weeks and look like they will explode. If curiousity gets the best of you, try taking a needle and poking at it...LOL! Joking. wink.gif

Take care.

'Cepu mas' question. There is no definite answer on how long it takes. In some of the AFS slings I have, it takes around one month, give or take. But this really depends on your feeding routine and among a lot of other things.

How is your Lychas scutilus?

Moulting is a natural process. Leave it be. As long as you feed and mist your tanks, it will happen. Trust god on this. tongue.gif

ryo: i am curios, why not wise decision? i mean certainly is the different thing but the same technice applies

Same techniques apply kah? You may need to modify on your praying technique once it tags you. As soon as the pain begins, it's a going to be a downhill roller coaster ride filled with sharp pain and fear for dear life, which feels like it's never going to end. I'm not going to even start on it's LD50 rating or even it's neurotoxic revelations, that part is on google. Some of the things that can happen once a person gets unlucky enough to get stung include: acute pain around sting site(try thinking of 35pieces of 3inch needles throbbing in and out of your thumb, an LQ sting may feel worse), weakening of the body and elevated temperature(fever), involuntary muscular contraction(convulsions), paralysis, and at times coma or death. And the icing on the cake will be knowing that there is no antivenin available locally for LQs - they aren't supposed to be here in the first place. The average doctor will not be able to help much other than giving a general treatment for most toxic stings, which will in most cases help to a certain extent. It's not such a cool pet to keep after all eh? Never compromise safety for anything else.

Research alone is not enough. Not all LQs act and behave the way they are portrayed in books and documentaries. Take smaller steps before beginning to run.

Good luck guys.

I don't know how often they give birth. I'm sorry. If you wanna try keeping some, won't freebies be a good start? Grab them from your friend. tongue.gif

Btw, here's a pic of the pair of L.waigiensis .

Checkout the pedipalps. These are non-parthenogenic ssp., they require sexual copulation. Males are just as important females, unlike L.australiasie.

Leetplayer,do u have any liocheles australis ? are u selling?
*

You're mixing it up guys.

Its L. australasiae(not L.australis..) australis is almost exclusive to the Androctonus genera. The A. Australis is probably the second most potent scorpion in the world and with it's intensed and powerful cauda makes for a forbidding scorpion. Just be careful with species-naming lah. wink.gif

On the other hand, here's something on L.australis. Link
