@bartbarb: Here's the measurement. It's 22cm long, 12cm wide, and the depth is about 6cm if you don't include the top (since you can't put the soil there anyways).

Er... I feel the best way to actually handle a scorpion is to NOT handle a scorpion. AFS may not be poisonous enough to kill the handler, but if you're allergic and didn't know it, do you wanna find out first hand that you ARE allergic and it is fatal to you?
On very very rare occasions, my bf and I have handled our adult AFS, Clip before. But only when we can't find thongs and we're cleaning his enclosure. But don't do it unless you really need to. Getting stung by an adult AFS is still painful as hell and can be fatal if you're allergic. |

I think ryo means the shop on the lower floor of Jusco Home Center. They sell tarantulas and scorpions there too. I haven't gone there in quite a while but they used to have many beautiful tarantulas and sold adult AFS quite cheaply.

It's fine la junshern. They can last a long time with very little water and food. In the wild they don't catch food every few days. May have to go a week without food. in captivity they have constant food supply.
Ryo, yours got 2 molted. |

As tepat as it gets. I got mine off pet Safari back then when I was keeping hermit crabs. Less than RM 10. I take it out to sun and dry sometimes (too humid encourages fungus growth ma). The hygrometer will rise and drop according to how dry the weather is and when raining will have higher humidity lo.

Digital ones tend to be a lot more accurate. The RM 10 ones has a kind of metal in the center that kinda stretches and vice versa depending on humidity. So the accuracy will definitely be slightly off (not sure by how much la but it does change depending on humidity).
And digital ones of course last longer. The back of the RM 10 one has been stuck with a double sided like tape. So if you remove it often you have to change it often. And tanks with high humidity cause the cupboard like material to grow soft and even have fungus growing on it after a long long usage (unless your tank dry then it's fine). |
