if buy kembara also get the DVVT version( i never try before, i only tried the non DVVT version). the non DVVT one for me is really terrible. really no power at all even when 1 ppl sitting in car only.i hv to turn overdrive off to drive the car( still no power).and u guys are rite, the auto version FC is really horrible, worse than a 2.0l honda accord 08. and 1 more thing damm scary... tht car, during raining times, i had an incident,i was driving at 60km/h, i full brake, the car stopping power really sux man....i nearly kiss the car in front of me during a traffic jam (left an inch only between my bumper and another car bumper).even iswara brakes are better than kembara, myvi brakes are very good for a local car rclxms.gif .i can confirm the kembara brakes and tires are in tip top condition. i drive a honda city btw.

hi k!nex,
im driving a kembara.. its a dvvt auto CT Elegance, and mine is actually the limited edition that comes with abs brakes and airbags plus leather seat too..(comes with klasik gold color only)

what i can say is, my kembara had no problems at all in braking..
twice experiencing emergency braking..
my dad even installed a stabilizer bar under the hood to maximize stability during taking tight corners(proven good), and also to minimize shaking of the body..

its really2 reliable for me being a University student..
pick-up is really good, since dvvt engine or codename k3-ve engine has higher rev, hence should get a good head start at traffic light..(no kidding)
many moded cars(wira evo wannabe, iswara sound wanna explode) all sometime think im playing them(actually not)..

i've been travelling long distances with it, on highway 140km/h is normal.. can get 150 or 160 max if slope a bit.. haha..

anyway, right now im loving my car so much, easy to maintain too..
been changing and adding accessories..

fuel? lets just say, from muadzam shah, pahang.. going to ipoh using karak highway and crossing at genting sempah is about Rm70.. or roughly 10.5km/liter for mine.. suppose 11 something.. but u know larr going up hills at genting..

its compact like kancil/kelisa, but goes faster(dvvt version), rugged look, 4wd advantage against sedan or low riders.. easy parking, easy handling..

Gentlemen , what would happen if you installed larger tires on a kembara ? I want to get an inch or two bigger tires on my kembara , but I am reluctant to do so , also I have no idea where I can go to do this , any help in this matter will be very much appreciated.

Peace !

Hi. Best people to ask is kembara.net.

Personally, if you change tires, and they get heavier or of a larger diameter, you will feel a power loss.
This will be even more so for the older HCEJ models.

The wider widths will also make your steering heavier.

If your out for the looks, you can go ahead, I have seen quite a few already. Your call. On where to do this, well anywhere, just shop around, I would assume the kedai papan in klang would still be a good place to start your hunt and work your way from there.

Best of luck.

Is 10.5km/liter considered good fuel efficiency? Does it mean that the higher the value, the more fuel efficient it is biggrin.gif ... Is it as fuel efficient as Kelisa?

How much are the spare parts of the Perodua Kembara DVVT? I heard that it is as expensive as the parts for Toyota Harrier rclxub.gif . Is it true?

I should say that's a bad FC figure for a compact car. Still, both kelisa and viva are holding the best FC figure (comparison between perodua models). You can't really expect good FC from a kembara due to the drivetrain system n the puny engine.

How about the spare parts? Is it expensive or it is difficult to get since it is obsolete? Is the engine/cabin noisy (for a DVVT model)?

U can easily obtain the spare parts through Perodua's SC in an expensive price of coz.
I guess the engine noise for the DVVT model should be quieter than the HC-EJ ones. I guess it should be kinda similar to myvi's engine noise.

Urs is the DVVT kembara rite?....My sis HCEJ engine sucks....gets average about 8km/l urban driving.....Gonna get a daihatsu engine transplant when the current engine dies off.

Added on August 11, 2008, 10:27 pmBTW, can recommend any workshops to modify the current kembara radiator fan motor from mechanical to electric motor...

It Is Considered Good FC For Full Time AWD.

For The Spareparts I Don't Think It Was Expensive.I Own A Kembara 2004 DVVT For Daily Use.

dont waste ur money buying kembara.. gearbox KO hard to find the replacement... FC is SUPER high... have 4WD but seems like not 4WD... space small like kancil.. i feel that kancil is more comfortable compared to Kembara... can't drive fast... man need speed maaa... cornering is out of your expectation..

NEVER BUY KEMBARA, EVEN MY OLD ISWARA 300 percent better than kembara..
