Hi All...

Before this I posted that only when I play rainbow 6 vegas i see artifacts (jagged edges and lines somethings on my screen graphics) and thought maybe its a one off thing. But I just got Mass Effect from GH last week and when I put it on before long all the artifacts are coming think and fast. Even on GRID demo the artifacts keep coming. I think it will only come on Games that are pretty intensive on the GPU or something like that.

Anyway... I seems that before long I will have to start thinking on how to send my BOX for warranty in Singapore. Can anyone guide me on the exact process? I heard from Djinn must write to microsoft and then get someone to call from singapore and all that. So can someone guide me through the exact process?

Thank you guys so much.

Regards,

Benjamin (chosen1)

Sign in to your live account at xbox.com

Go to 'Manage Profile'

Under 'Preferences & Registration', click on 'Registration & Repair'.

Click 'Register a new device', key in your console's serial number and... here comes the troublesome part. Enter a valid Singapore address, with a contact person who actually lives there.

Once you've done that, 'request a new repair'... I think. I'm not sure coz I haven't reached that part. tongue.gif

Added on August 11, 2008, 5:05 pmbtw mine has been dead for about 2 weeks or so, still can't find the time to go to SG.
plus on-the-spot replacement is not possible... shucks.

I think I'm gonna wait till the end of the year, maybe they will replace this xenon with a newer version. tongue.gif

The RM500 is to permanently fix the 3RRod problem. After the fix, 3RRod prob will fly to heaven.

whistling.gif Soo sure aa.. ? I think the word "permanently" is misused widely here... That will effect all the new forumer in this lyn badly in future.. doh.gif Have you heard the new story recently.. careful and make sure you completely know what are you saying.. thumbup.gif

Added on August 11, 2008, 11:10 pmJuine... thanks for your help. Can you pm me your house add in Singapore so I can register?

correct. if you make an appointment before hand and give all your details as well, you will be given a case number and when you are at the service center, you can exchange your unit immediately.

the only problem is like what some have said here, you'll need to give SG address (actually any valid SG address is fine) and you need a singaporean contact number. that singaporean number needs to call a local SG number to confirm stuff before you can actually do the exchange. and no, you cant call the number with a MY number.

hope this helps.

imho, paying someone to do it for u is a lot less hassle than going down to SG to get it exchange yourself. at the end of the day if you factor in your petrol, time and other costs, the money you're paying someone else to do it is worth it. smile.gif

If youre going there, remember the call center only available from monday to friday, 9-6pm. but the pickup centre is open from monday to friday, 9-8pm and saturday 9-1pm. sunday its closed.

get someone to call the service number from a singapore phone. u can call the toll free number from a public phone, but only the red singapore telecoms payphone. u will need a coin, but any accepted denominations is fine. u will get it back. (toll free)

after you call the call center, they will ask for the problem, ask for your s/n, and asks for a number and address. any address will do. i used some sex shop address down the road from the it center =P u might want to have a sg prepaid phone number though and use it with a second mobile phone. its cheap, only SGD15! they will then give you a service number. keep it.

now, the hardest part is, it will take about a week for them to process, maybe less, but its definitely not one day anymore. more than a day, less than a week (7 working days). they will call you on your number, informing that you can pick it up. that is all...

actually, its easy to see why it costs 300. 100 for the return bus trip, x2. and 50 for lunch, x2. unless you have someone doing the calling for you. then you will make 150 out of every 300 you get for doing this 'cos you will save one trip.

so no, i dont think it costs more than 300 to do x2 trips to .sg. the only wastage would be your time.

If 3ROD is within three years of purchase if Im correct..

Luckily when my XBox kena 3rod ,i was on a trip to Singapore so the first thing i did after I checked in was to call Xbox hotline through the red public phone..But I bought a call card instead of using coins(Din noe dat its free)..Then i asked one of the forumers,SPR173 to help me xchange at Funan..

And that's how I got my Xbox back..

Haha thanks you guys for all your help. Just want to know... anyone has the singapore toll free number? It would help a lot. Plus I also want to know, when you pick your new (replacement) xbox up, do they give you a new one or refurbished one? It would suck if your machine is the new one with HDMI port and they give you an old one without it and so on... =)

Normally they give refurbished ones.
My first 360 (RMAed by GH) was replaced with a new one though. That was back in May last year, and the fedex 2-way shipping fee was only RM190.
You guys sure it's RM300 now?

Ahh refurbished ones... so that means I might get an old xbox without HDMI port? Wah not fair... but what happens if I need the HDMI port? Does microsoft give you a similar version?
