No doubt expenses in Johor is lower but you got to sacrifice your time to travel.
I drove a singapore registered car, depart from home at 630am and reaches office between 730am to 8am which is located at Jurong east, finish work between 5pm to 530pm and reaches home around 630pm -7pm if serious jam around 730pm-8pm.
Seems like it is quite similar to KL, i remember around 2013-2014, i stay in Cheras Batu 11 area and 6am driving to Jalan Tun Razak/KL city, 9.30am i only arrive office.
