hopefully they release setupboxes with hdmi out.. as the ones released here does not have hdmi out.. only component eventhough its mpeg4 quality...
component video also can carry 1080i signals, though it cannot have HDCP encryption lahQUOTE(callmevil @ Aug 11 2008, 07:59 AM)
yes digital for transmission.. but as for source.. its not a matter of it being analogue or not, its a matter of compression. their source is using sd compression.
u notice when it rains astro just cuts off.. this shows that its digital because if its analogue, ull just get noise on ure screen.. but digital its either all or nothing.. astro can definitely fix this though by just increasing the length of their transmission longer to that of a raindrop's diameter..
hehe.. that's the weakness of ku-band which will be attenuated by rainu notice when it rains astro just cuts off.. this shows that its digital because if its analogue, ull just get noise on ure screen.. but digital its either all or nothing.. astro can definitely fix this though by just increasing the length of their transmission longer to that of a raindrop's diameter..

I believe Astro picture quality sucks because they reduce their bit rate (high compression) in order to squeeze more channels into single transponder, so they can broadcast more channels, more income to them
. since average Malaysian do not really care about picture quality

astro image quite ok lah, u won't notice much on CRT TV, but when view on lcd /plasma... well i wonder why media prima never initiate any digital broadcast/HDTV trial until now?
