According to that, it's around RM110/dive if we do the 5 dives package. Include equipment somemore, quite cheap already if you ask me. laugh.gif

I'm spoiled with the 50-70 pricing that we get in malaysia tongue.gif

Just came back from tenggol... 6.5 hrs drive, jam badly after dungun-paka. Uturn back to use the bukit besi way. Going there was 4 hrs from Gombak toll.

Tenggol.
Easily the best peninsula east coast island for diving, pristine corals, nudis, just sadly very few fishes.

Basically 2 resorts there only, I stayed and dived with Zol (www.tenggoldives.com), chosen based on the recommendations I've gotten from MUW and others i know. Back to basics environment, strictly dive, makan, sleep. Maxis and Digi only gprs.

My friend, a divemaster from japan who work at Laguna Redang for 1 year has passed away at Crystal Bay, Nusa Penida yesterday. So for those who visit any place in Nusa Penida, please beware on tide and timing to see Mola-Mola.

two accidents in two days at the same area? wow.. something needs investigating. dive centre negligence? the truth needs to be known.

During mola season its quite common, hence why its really not recommended for new divers to go.

Last year, there was 3 deaths in one month sweat.gif

Combination of cold water and down currents (which many are not familiar with). Normal reaction when hit by down current is to inflate bcd, which will make the situation worse.

Really weird huh, both very experienced professional divers. Maybe they went deeper than the rest of the group to look for Mola2?

Yes I heard about the news yesterday and realise same name with the DM who used to worked at Laguna, so check with Master Liu and he confirmed it's her. So sad to hear about it. Such a young diver somemore. sad.gif

Hope she RIP.

Actually if you work on the island, also hard to get fat la. You'll have to carry tanks here and there also. Hard work, eat a lot. biggrin.gif

You sure its her? MUW and ScubaSG says its another person and the Jakartapost said that it was a new diver.

What should we do when the current pushes us down.. Just follow the current (drift) or fight the current or hold on something..? Nvr dive in bali, ppl say the current like a washing machine. Sound like we will be upside down spinning when the current hit (that what i can imagine la).. Curious what like the real situation.
*
Textbook would be to deflate BCD and stay slim profile as possible (less area to be swept by the current). Then try to swim sideways out of the current stream, or if possible climb your way out.

My experience at Nusa Penida during a drift dive:
Coz even though I knew the theory regarding down currents, somehow my natural instinct when I first started noticing that I was sinking was to inflate my BCD, which made it alot worse. Realizing that, deflated my BCD as much as possible then tried to swim away, luckily down current wasnt too strong, still manageable.

Another experience while in pulau weh:
Rock climb all the way to a sheltering rock and waited for the current to pass.

Came back from LOB Kaleebso on Monday. 3D3N on the boat, accommodation was very basic, some rooms for 3 some 4 and one room for 8, 2 toilets, 20 divers. Food was awesome, had salmon sashimi and all sorts of good food. On the last day they were fishing sotong as well and we had sotong sashimi, sotong tempura, sotong fried rice and all sotong.

Only went around Tioman, nothing much to see honestly. Vis was so-so, current quite calm except one dive was really strong. Went to KM Sipadan Wreck, had to do the dive at 7.30am before any other divers come, deep but nothing much to see also. Lots of nudibranch. At some dive sites, the corals were quite nice. Overall, a good experience to go thru. The next LOB I wanna go will be either in Thailand or Maldives. laugh.gif

Just wondering, how to sign up for kaleebso? My friends tells me usually its chartered out every weekend to different groups, so if you know the group then you join. Any way for a solo diver to join?

Did you happen to dive at Phi Phi Islands? Based on South Siam Divers website, they don't seem to dive at Phi Phi (weird). I am going there next year in Jan. My dive instructor recommended that I dive there. I know it's a little more expensive due to the longer boat ride time to get there. But if that place is much better than the other sites. I don't mind paying.

Anybody else here have dived at Phi Phi? How is it compared to the other sites like king cruiser, anemo reef, shark point, racha yai etc? Anything special about Phi Phi that is worth going and paying for the extra cost?

Phi phi is like so so only... on par with peninsula malaysia east coast islands. nothing to shout about

If you dive safely and conservatively, 99% of the time you wont need the swimming and water threading skills.

Only concern is that you get separated and need to wait on the surface for rescue (ie like the tioman drifted away case), then its when it'll be useful to stay calm and afloat while waiting for rescue.

Assuming all taken at islands and not those part on land part on island courses

fastest 3d/2n but not recommended at all

usually 4d/3n

Actually got trolled already. The guy refused to ship to malaysia even when he listed malaysia as one of the places he ships to. Then i insist him to ship, he sent me invoice $49 USD for shipping. What an asshat. sad.gif

Reg cost $49, listed shipping price was $10, but now want $49. He refused to ship and offering it to the 2nd highest bidder instead. Launched complaint to eBay already. And i don't want it anymore. Later he put shit inside. laugh.gif

EDIT: Sealantis wants Rm315 to service it for me.  doh.gif Just not my day today.  unsure.gif
