If you're a beginner i strongly do not recommend going to nusa penida. Super strong currents and down currents plus super surf at the manta points

Sipadan Seaventure 6D5N Diving : RM2700, Normal Price RM3350

Kinda disappointing actually, cant really blame them, I've heard that prices for sipadan has been 'increased'.

Last year i paid for 4d3n 1440... this year they selling the same package for 1750.

Whom you diving with?

saw it at lobster wall or panglima reef?

Apparently I heard that there's a new species at Seaventures rig, first time sighted at mabul

Scout around 1.8k. Btw what makes you thinking going for Scout or stiletto?

I took OWD and AOW with Quiver. They are good and strict but I don't like the service and its environment. I took other license with 3 more DC at other island so I can compare well. If you go for fun diving at Quiver, I don't recommend. Service at Long Beach Quiver are better than Coral Bay.

Zeagle scout less than 1k la doh.gif I saw at Rainbow runners booth going for 9xx

hah yes.. also planned already.. either apeks flight or atomics B2/M1... also 2k +- ..  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Any particular reason for choosing those regs? Bear in mind, apeks and atomics servicing cost is quite high

prefer the lighter stuff, and dont think i'll be going <40m, performance for the flight should be alright i guess?  blink.gif

how much will servicing cost? i read that atomics requires servicing once every 2 years, or after duno how many dives.. which is still acceptable i for me.. not too sure about flight... any clue u have?

My Apeks TX costs me around 400 for a full rebuild, Scubapro Mk25 around rm500. I would assume it'll be in the same range.

Those like Aqualung Titan will be much cheaper.

My scubapro MK25/A700 only RM193.70 for servicing. I do it at Sealantis.

Mine was a rebuild laugh.gif

Too hardcore already (actually i bought it secondhand, off ebay, from an instructor in Hawaii). Almost everything changed except the piston (which might need changing soon).

MK25/S600 with Aqualung octo.

Lobster Wall, Mabul. Taken with S95.
No chio camera to snap awesome macro pics. laugh.gif

Paid around RM19xx for 5D4N, matta fair price, Borneo Divers, unlimited house reef dive (including sunset and night dives) as usual, 50% off equipment rental and 1st boat night dive, also included 1 day permit fee to Sipadan. It's my 2nd stay with them and I quite like their service.

Didn't see any pygmy seahorse at Seaventures. sad.gif Lots of nudibranches and ribbon eel there though.

I'm quite interested to go for a dive at Pulau Perhentian. Actually I'm looking for somewhere to unwind and have a great leisure time to myself apart from diving. Saw some prices online and this particular dive site, Panaroma probably gave me the best packages of all. RM1400 inclusive of diving courses, 4 nights accomodation and 12 meals with return boat transfer too.

During mide, a few operators were offering 950 all in packages nod.gif

do u have any information centre based in kk? not planning to stay at pulau gaya .how much will be the total cost , i already go through most of the web , is it true cost will be around 1340 if at kk ?
tried inquiry for mabul , the flight tix almost double than kk , thats why i prefer kk now .
so what's the total budget require if in thai and indonesia?
prefer to be below 2k including accomodation , flight , and course

I had friends that did theirs with Sabah Divers, SDI, much cheaper. From their reviews, it was ok.

Also if you want mabul, check with mohan @ scubaholics. He can hook you up with a OW package for 1k at big john scuba (homestay).

Each dive cost will differ base on location. Redang cheapest is around RM50 per dive excluding equipments. Other hotels can go up to RM80-100 per dive. From what I heard, Malaysia is one of the cheapest place to dive. Mostly all go by packages, with accommodation and full board meals all that.

Don't worry about going alone, lots of ppl go alone as well and they meet others when they go diving. Then from there you'll know more divers and maybe other single divers that are looking for buddies too. smile.gif
*
Agreed, compared to thailand, indo and phillip, malaysia definitely cheaper than those countries except for sipadan dives.

is the resort nice? what kind off facility they have?

The rooms and atmosphere at Scuba Junkie are almost on par with the those at the more expensive places, say SMV. But be prepared for a mostly 'white' ppl environment.

Negative points for me is their view on seafood.

We do not serve seafood. Fish are our friends, not food.

my camera is Sony W350 compact with Seashell universal casing. Lots of Photoshop involved! and doesnt do macro properly, thats why there's no super-close-up shots. but works perfectly for me, makes my ID so much easier. and its so much more fun!

I was just thinking already, white balance like that, damn hard to get via manual mode camera setting tongue.gif

I'm torn between  XTX200 or XTX50 or MK25/S600. Which one would you guys recommend?
*
I would say that XTX200 and the MK25 is on par with each other (with MK25 being slightly more preferred by techies, in some places). XTX50 almost same construction as the XTX200.

Unless you're really hardcore (lots of dives) and frequently go >30m and wack <50 bar, go for the XTX50.

Hello, just asking all the pro here.
Usually which side should we wear the snorkel ?
Right or Left ?

Or just personal preference ?
*
Pros dont wear snorkel thumbup.gif

But on a serious note, think about it....
Your regulator is coming from your right, logically to avoid messing with the hoses, u shud wear it on the left
