5kbps or 5kBps? If only 5kbps, you can hardly surf anything... Maybe you should consider other bb operator...

My problem is different from yours. Mine is HSDPA signal gone for 1 mth (only few days saw HSPDA for few seconds). I can get full 3G speed during that period.

Hi Fruitie,
Seems like you're not being capped! Maybe due to your low usage lately... As for me, this is the first time I got capped!!! Celcom started capping when I reached 5.1GB based on billing cycle (not calender month)!!! QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 11 2008, 08:45 AM) |

Mine for sure is capped. Mr Cola helped me to confirm it.
BTW, these 2 days my HSDPA signal is gone again!!! QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 11 2008, 01:52 PM) Yeah same. This post has been edited by chyaw: Nov 12 2008, 07:31 AMStarted to fluctuate below 50kbps. I don't think mine is capped, should be the maintenance activity again. Maybe yours is also because of the maintenance? |

Hi all,
dgtel2 is right. We all should complaint to MCMC. When Celcom received many complaints, hopefully they'll improve their service. As for me, today is my billing date, if speed still remain bad until monday. I'll log my complaint. |

Well, when we over 5GB limit, of course it is hard to complaint lar (Celcom has its regulations to protect themself). However, when you reach your billing cycle and you still get crap speed, then we'll hit them real hard.
My plan is this: Get few days speed test (use Celcom speedometer so that they have no excuse to say the speedometer not accurate) at different time. Use it as a proof that Celcom "lie" to its customer (especially D98 as our speed supposed to be 3.6Mbps). You see, if we proof that Celcom can't provide 80% of the subscribed speed (3.6X0.8=2.88Mbps), then Celcom is cheating its customer with false information (it is like PLUS highway theoretically can drive up to 200km/hr, and you can reach your 400km destination in 2hrs!). So, if Celcom can't keep the subscribed speed, Celcom shoudn't think of capping us. This is not fair!!! QUOTE(rkwan67 @ Nov 13 2008, 10:10 PM) yes D98 will capped at 128kbps.. but 128kbps n 64kbps makes no different la.. 3600kbps to 128kbps then make difference ma.. i always get .130 address.. cant change to another 1.. i think MCMC oso no use dy.. caz they keep on say over 5GB now 128kbps.. what u gonna to say? unfair? but the policy states ther. how? anybody can provide me with lots of reason? then i can argue bak again.. thx |

What I'm saying is it is even worst. I never hit anything near to 2Mbps...
What they should advertise is D98 max speed 1.5Mbps or 2Mbps. Then it looks more appropriate! If Celcom can't meet the spec, don't bother to cap us! My fair usage idea is only those usage at 80% of max speed should be consider in capping! E.g, if first 2hr speed is 2.8Mbps and following 2hr is 1Mbps, the usage calculation for capping should only consider the first 2hrs only. I'm not so interested to challenge the 5GB policy as many other country also doing it... QUOTE(rkwan67 @ Nov 14 2008, 09:56 AM) yes, i support wat chyaw said.. my billing cycle date is in 18th.. but theoretically it isnt fair to us.. even PLUS highway didnt said we cant drive 200kmh. but if we drive they didnt catch (throttle) us.. only policeman will do the work. so, is celcom right to throttle us? our country bandwidth is it really so small? a great ads which show us 3.6mbps. but at the bottom said *3.6mbps only can use for 5 days. the rests of the month u can only use 60kbps. if like that, then is fair for us because at least they "clearly" states that! |

rule of thumb: Get without contract subscription (D68 or D98 without modem). Buy modem elsewhere.
FYI, I got my E220 at RM299. QUOTE(jianxiang @ Nov 14 2008, 02:18 PM) |

E220 is the most commonly used modem for wireless BB in M'sia. But this doesn't mean it is the best! Your budget also play an important role. I choose E220 for value for money.
As for coverage map, as long as Celcom update it, the info should be accurate theoretically. They just need to know where got their tower (with GPRS/3G/HSDPA signal), then the coverage will be known (in radius from the tower location) QUOTE(jianxiang @ Nov 14 2008, 04:50 PM) okok...so E220 is a recommended modem??if i found those sellers which diff types..shud i get it??will they affect the connections? btw...pls take a look on this http://www.celcom.com.my/cep/xresources/Ce...e_hop_away.html How the streamyx plan works on??up to 1.0 mbps...my laptop can online wif it everywhere ma?need tm phone line??RM108 For a limited time??how long??the website din stat it...any1 using this?? THX U GUYS UP THERE!!!THX!!! Added on November 14, 2008, 4:55 pmbeautifoolgirl up there that just gave me a helping hand up there...u still trust the coverage map??i thought the coverage that showed to us is just cheating us to register and then... $$ follow aeroplane flew again..since they said connection up to 3.6mbps for every1 and then got wat wat capped at 5gb,sumore low connections right now in all over the world that are celcom users.... |

If you're using data plan only SIM card, I don't think you can subscribe to RM6 per day. Put it this way, how to subscribe???
However, there is one way you can do it. First, you subscribe to D68 or D98 and get a sim card. If your hp service provider is Celcom, just sms to subscribe to daily BB. So, when you want to dl heavily, just switch your SIM card! QUOTE(y_owez @ Nov 17 2008, 10:38 AM) nice to hear things going well. if i were in the d68 or d98 rite. that is one month basis yeh? can i mixed with the rm 6 a day one? or not.sorry if this is a stupid ques. cuz maybe sometimes wanan dl alot of stuff in one day .dun wan to use up the 5gb. or i need to wait finish 1 month then i can get the unlimited just one day> haah then go back to the plan |

Hi guys,
I've been talking about this few days ago, but not much responds... QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Nov 19 2008, 11:11 PM) For D98 users, Lets do something more constructive and effective actions to compensate our loss by paying a RM100 price but getting RM10 service. I remember Shaziman once said ISP must achieve and deliver at least 80% of the promised service or they will lose license. Based on this ground, I think we can write in to Celcom to ask for monetary compensation for its failure to render at least 80% of the advertised speed. I wrote (by email) to TMnet twice last time to ask for compensation for my Streamyx account when my Streamyx line was down for couple of days on two separate occasions. TMnet refunded me on both occasions. |
