I'm not sifu, but I think it is related to firewall setting on your laptop. QUOTE(zenox0123 @ Sep 11 2008, 03:34 PM) I just got my Celcom broadband yesterday but have problem. Hope Sifu here can help me. Successfully installed the Mobile Connect Software with A1 Vodafone logo at the Mobile Connect software. My friend is HuaWei logo. But each time i tried to connect, it will only pop up "Opening Port" and stuck at there. While my friends din't face such problem. Then i tried their modem also the same result. So i went to my Device Manager and discover an unknown device named "Something Async Adapter". It only appear after i tried to connect to the broadband. btw, Im using Acer Aspire 5550 series laptop with Window Xp Sp2 as my OS and im currently at UTM, Skudai, Johor. Hope those Sifu out here can help me.

Hi Xixo, Yup! The link is not working, but it used to work previously. Maybe too many people complaint not accurate... Personally, I think streamyx should be better than Celcom BB. Anyway, we still share the same backbone with streamyx (TM=Celcom). You're right, the only good thing about Celcom is travel factor (if you're comparing with streamyx). If you subscribe to D98 plan and in a location where you can get 3.6Mbps or more, than speed is another factor (but keep in mind of the 5GB policy). QUOTE(xixo_12 @ Sep 11 2008, 04:35 PM) thx man.. now i quite boring with screamyx, they perform not soo well.. is it worth for me to upgrade to broadband?? what is the real impact that give to me except can travel factor?? FYI, the link doesnt work la..

Hi all, Xunlei maybe faster, but make sure you really know what you do. Below is a link to Wikipedia regarding Xunlei http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xunlei For me, utorrent is good. Speed also can reach 100kBps (but seldom). Average speed is 20-80kBps depends on seeders and network. Well, just my 2 cents...

Yup! Torrents seems to be slow lately... My average torrent speed is now 20kBps as compared to 60kBps average in July. About direct download, I got 50% chances of dc. If I don't direct download, no dc... funny, right?
Hi Soundsyst64, How much you bought your E220 in PC fair? Kuching price normally higher than Penisular M'sia.

Hi Soundsyst64, Just curious. Do you mean you torrrent one by one??? Normally, I torrent more than 10 at the same time. Is this the reason why my speed is much slower??? QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Oct 3 2008, 05:05 AM) Try using utorrent. If still unable to download, use the torrentflux service. My current torrent traffic, it's international seeder. I can reach peak speed of 46KBps in single torrent and the speed may reduce a little if 2 or more torrents run at the same time. [attachmentid=614091]

i heard that E220 has been replaced by a new model. Maybe Huawei wants to clear off all the old stock.

I'm also D98 user. I also got full signal, but yesterday my speed is less than 100kbps. Of course, not everyday like that lar! On normal days, my speedtest can reach 1mbps! Maybe something happen to Celcom network... QUOTE(mfa333 @ Oct 6 2008, 02:27 PM) Hi, I've just registered D98 last saturday. Today tested at UTM Skudai with 4 bar HSDPA signal, only manage to get 100kbps at speedtest.net. Why so slow?

Hi, utorrent is the best overall torrent software (based on my opinion). speed on average D68 is 20kBps and D98 is 60kBps. However, lately, my speed sucks!!! QUOTE(MobiusVyper @ Oct 7 2008, 12:26 PM) Ah ok thanks. Will go check it out. Are there any other alternative methods though? I'd prefer to have only one torrent manager haha but if there isnt any other way then it'll have to do. What kind of speeds are you getting? Edit: It's only available in chinese? I don't read or speak or remotely understand chinese

Hi, Don't worry about the yellow triangle. Mine sometime green, sometime yellow... The most important thing is you can torrent with reasonable speed. If you still got problem, PM me. QUOTE(MobiusVyper @ Oct 7 2008, 05:01 PM) Yeah I've tried uTorrent earlier and the icon at the bottom is always the Yellow Triangle. Is yours like this too? or can you get the green sign?

Hi Mr Cola, My area's HSDPA suddently dissapear since Monday (Sunday very slow with HSDPA). Is there any way you can help me check what happen to the tower? I don't want to talk to those CS people. They never tell me the truth. BTW, Streamyx P2P policy doesn't say how much they capped. Just some statements saying priority given to P2P will be lower. Maybe Streamyx is not that bad afterall...

you mean Kuching? No sure, but there is one wireless broadband available quite sometime ago. Company name is Dawana (office at Satok), but customer service worst than Celcom!!! Oh. BTW, my area finally have back HSDPA connection (just few minutes ago), but my download speed still sucks! Download Speed : 75kbps (9.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed : 88 kbps (11 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency : 313 Hmm... well switch off my connection and see any improvement or not. QUOTE(moiskyrie @ Oct 11 2008, 02:24 PM) is there a way to get satellite broadband?

Fully agreed. Talking/complaining to CS is a waste of time. That's why I don't like to call them. Only make you feel angry after callling them. QUOTE(rkwan67 @ Oct 12 2008, 11:57 PM) Celcom CS operator manual?? lolz..haha actually everytime i called them, what they ask i juz told them done oledi, tried oledi.. no use.. n describe the problem is major problem causes a lot of things, n many days oledi.. slow like hell, only few kbps, keep on dc..lolzz then only can pass me to technical for lodge a report..

lately the dc is quite high at my place. Direct download is almost impossible unless you're downloading 1-2MB data... Thus, torrenting currently is my only way...

I hope it is not downgrading for cost cutting... QUOTE(dgtel2 @ Oct 22 2008, 05:07 PM) no need to rant coz they are upgrading till 15th November... (hopefully...)
