Bristol, i guess you will have to ask youngkies. overall i spend like 20+ pounds a week for groceries. usually i buy 2 weeks worth of groceries and its never exceed 50 pounds. that is for myself. i am not sure about others for travelling and entertainment it is quite dependent on local environments. I spent quite alot on that since i am  a big spender so i dont dare to comment overall i spend like an average of 300-400 pounds a month excluding rental and bills (which is abit too much ) and my account always overdraft at the end of the month

i shop alot nuff said. but i do try to control. sometimes if working too late i have to resort on eating outside instead of cooking. thats where all the expenses go.

living alone here so nobody to share my expenses with
council tax is around that figure. but some ex council flats (like mine ) doesnt require you to pay council tax

if rental in london is 100 per week i will undoubtly move there

4th June is my birthday! Haha, I'll let you know in a couple of days time, but I think no problem if it's a Saturday morning. 
Yeap, I think it's called Southwark Park, I think.  But I would suggest Canada Water especially if you're working in Southwark as there's where I work too. It's quite near and only takes about 20 minutes cycle (by tube could be between 30-40 minutes from house door to office door). 

There's the Canada Water dock areas near to where the station is, this place is absolutely brilliant, it cost a bit more, about £700 per month but it's really nice as you stay near to the dock.  Or else move a bit further from the station and the rent should come down.  Becareful not to wander too far into Lewisham area though. 

Guess what?  There's a huge Tesco beside the station with a small shopping centre which you can get most of your stuff.

liewjls: u can stay at upton park, there's a tesco metro just outside the station and lotsa cheap anene shops. lol. upton park zone 3 is a cheap place.

Sounds good, depending on the number of people, we could try the Korean I mentioned some time ago.  The place is a bit tiny I want the chocolate cupcakes, taking a bit of risk is fine by me!
I think if you factor in the comfort, the tranquility and the environment, the £700 isn't that bad.  I am paying £110 which is really good as well because I stay with a very good landlord (who's not home all the time + when they're home I get home cooked food!). 

Becareful though if you're looking for house on gumtree because there's quite a number of scammers on there.  Anyone that wants you to pay upfront and payment involves Western Union etc are all scammers. 

The cheesecake Janice made the last time was brilliant (though I suspect the food poisoning the next day had something to do with the cheesecake )

The £700 I quoted was per room I think it's important to find a place that is good as it would be really difficult having to move around again when you start working. 
Nah, my gut feeling tells me it was the cheesecake.  We'll see how it goes this time with the chocolate cupcakes!  I can't remember who Beve is? Was she there when we had Thai the last time?

I think 7 should still fit in, because the place is quite small and it feels like a family run restaurant.  It's just behind the Centre Point building at Tottenham Court Road station (tube). 

The price should be about £15 per person but should come down if we have more people there.  It would be a bit difficult to do order separately so it's a order and share thing.  My friend mentioned in passing to me there's a nice English restaurant around there as well and cost about £17 for a three course meal, I'll find out where it is.

Sure.  I would strongly suggest you avoid Janice's cupcakes though (not that I want to have an extra for myself!) as I don't think you would be happy if you're down with food poisoning

This IS the restaurant I was on about >_> Yeap, they do hotpot but not steamboat but the hotpot is very good stuff. 

The soup base is something Korean and a bit spicy, and they put in the usual things like vege, beancurd, mushroom, kimchi, and beef/fish etc.
