Yes, you can get a sudden surge of hit on your first launching, but able to keep it in a consistent manner is another question it self.

If your content just cannot got keep up, then reader will get bored, and will fly away..

How to make blog popular?I think it's all about the contents.If u have a unique n useful content/post,visitor will come,they'll come over n over n they will promote ur blog to their friends.
But it's important though to let the world know that u got a good content.For my blog(http://mykeypad.mywapblog.com),I juz tell my friends in FB bout my blog,promote it in pages/group in FB that have similar topic/theme with my blog,and u know what,I juz started the blog for less than a month but I already got 20000 visitors with average daily visitors of 1000.Cool hah for a blog hosted in a free domain.

yup, social networking is real great place to tell others about our blog. Twitter, facebook is kind of high pagerank site thats if its linking to our blog will be good thing. I also work hard for it. But most important will be "content", like ours legendary said, Content is the King !

i also start a blog but not really active. so i not thinking about spreading it yet. but idea to post on FB group/fan pages is definitely good!

Feat the social networking with your blogs. Feeds some, Tweets some = OWNING. Social networking is totally a great spot to boost up the popularity of your site. Good luck .

I am strongly believe that content is king! that's true and always true.
But the question is how is a good content? since sometimes this content works well with this kind of site, but not that kind of site.
Good content should be decide by Users! And therefore we are talking about User Satisfaction!

Basically when we are talking about good content, it shall be at least fulfill the two items which are fresh/unique and informative
When you say that it might work on this site, might not work on that site etc, this kind of content can be informative but there are not fresh or unique, probably is take from other site or rewrite or spin content

Does a blog directory helpful?I'm thinking about submiting my blogsite to a blog directory but mau tanya org yg ada experience first.If it is,what blog directory do u suggest(for Malaysian since my blog is in Malay)

Content is king, but it has to be original content. You also must write your content for human consumption first and foremost and then think about spreading your key words throughout the page.

If you write your content specifically for search engines you will probably find visitors leaving your site faster than a Man Utd fans scrambling to get out of Old Trafford on derby days.

I have found as time goes by that I have to think less about the key words as it becomes part of the way you actually create your content.

I am a bit of a social media hermit with my Twitter account sending minimal traffic to my site (note, website not blog) but I have found that by adding Facebook like buttons to every page on my site I am beginning to get a fair volume of visitors from this source as many different pages are being linked via the Like button.
