It is coming out mid of August.
Retail price at RM1799.
Cheaper than Powershot G9 (retail price RM1999).
Gonna buy this very soon.
But still comparing the FZ28 with the LX3.
Dunno which is better.

Micro Four Thirds cameras will not be true SLR (or single-lens reflex) cameras. There's no mirror, and thus, no reflex action. Without a mirrorbox (or the accompanying optical viewfinder), Micro Four Thirds cameras should rival larger advanced compacts (think Canon G9) in size and weight.

Of course, the elimination of the mirror and related systems also means that resulting cameras will utilize live view composition only – just like a point-and-shoot, but with the flexibility of interchangeable lenses.

A smaller lens mount and shorter flangeback have advantages where reducing lens size is concerned as well. According to the joint Olympus/Panasonic announcement, new lens development exclusively for Micro Four Thirds will "take advantage of significantly more compact lenses, particularly in the wide-angle and high-power zoom range."

Micro 4/3 might can use 4/3 lens!!
Good news for current 3/4 user!!

QUOTE
..no details about actual camera bodies or lenses using the new standard have yet been released. It's a safe bet, however, that physical representatives of the technology outlined in this announcement will be on display at Photokina next month, so keep an eye out for official product launches from both Panasonic and Olympus before that time.

Announce micro 3/4 just right after launch LX3. Bad timing blush.gif

Yo..did u check out the sample image of DP1 in dpreview...look at the pictures itself...and i say Faveon X3 is the best sensor out there not the camera itself...read what i say carefully smile.gif and since DP1 use this sensor it can produce very nice and accurate color. Aren't u guys judge a camera by the picture quality? sad.gif
And how can someone say Fuji F100 not nice a? my fren show me some of the pictures he's taken with the F100, i tot it was taken by his D80 until he told me it was F100..
And the main reason to buy a DIGITAL CAMERA is to take still pictures..if u wanna take good video then get a Video Recorder not a digital camera, if digicam can take video as good as those camcoder then who is going to buy or use those camcoder?

You have so much money buy both ah?
hahaha....

If u read the DP1 review carefully, u will find that dpreview complained a lot on the photo quality of the DP1.

Conclusion - Cons
Desaturated and 'flat' JPEG output
Some chroma noise even at base ISO, lots of it at higher sensitivities
Unreliable White Balance (and poor color in low light)

Generally very slow, very long read/write and processing times
Unimpressive shutter lag
Continuous mode only allows three shots per burst
Very slow Auto-Focus
Auto Focus gives up completely very quickly in low light (and there is no AF help light)
28mm fix focal length limits applications (but you know that before you buy)
Lens prone to flare (using the optional lens hood helps)
Red channel clipping

Low resolution screen that is also prone to reflections and smearing
Preview and playback view are both inaccurate (but in different ways)
Low refresh rate results in slightly jerky live preview image
Preview image turns monochrome in low light
Longwinded menu structure, few external controls (plus almost redundant zoom buttons)
Black writing on black buttons hardly readable
Battery life not impressive, indicator not very precise
Underpowered Flash, slightly unreliable flash exposure and slow flash recycling
No live histogramm
No highlight warning in review mode
Image parameters cover only small spectrum
Low quality video recording
Gridlines cannot be diplayed in Manual Focus mode
Quite heavy vignetting at F4
You can't shoot RAW and JPEG (only one or the other)
No macro mode
Highest sensitivity only ISO 800

Given this long list of "Cons" isn't exactly something I would call a "holy grail".
