So the culprit is the standard muffler, I thought the dual exhasut tip is good enough but maybe its just cosmetic *Proton CPS club V2, Please read the 1st page before ask Q ^^

acutally not the tip and yes u r right the tip is mainly for cosmetic only. the weird sound is due to the material used on standard muffler, i say it's quite thin material. So when u remove the cat-con (the ultimate restriction item), your exhaust flow become faster and solid. When it hit's on the thin wall of our standard muffler (s-flow) all the funny noise came out.

So, what muffler you would recommend? Will the twin loop good enough? BTW, I saw cars with dual exhaust (on the left and right) and looks kinda cool especially when its integrated into the bodykit |

The original mugen twinloops muffler is good, but the imitation i dunno. Best muffler (interms of HP increase) is Hooker brand then followed by Flowtech and Bassani.
For japanese brand u can look for Tanabe Medalion, 5zigen fireball, Mugen twin loops, Apexi Hybrid Megaphone or local Top Cat S-flow also not bad. This post has been edited by zenwarlord: Sep 27 2008, 12:44 PM |

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Sep 27 2008, 03:19 PM) The problem is I'm kinda noob when it comes to exhaust brand. Scare gonna get conned when buying used unit. no worry la...i can recomend u 1 guy which he only sell the original muffler. u can find him in zth and his name is Jannah. Or u choose those with Jasma tag, that's confirm is from japan.U need to shake the muffler and listen is there any tiny material inside, if there is then the muffler are not in good condition. Then look at the welding and bending area to ensure no re-welding. |

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Sep 27 2008, 04:36 PM) hmmm... I was told that upgrading existing campro to become cps is not possible. It is totally two different engine. Upgrade to IAFM is theoriticaly possible though. Unless you are planning for an engine swap. However changing to new cps engine would be similar to getting a new proton car with cps. The cost would not justify the change. I'm not sure for a used cps engine though.... But nothing is impossible for us malaysian .... |

If i wanna use the 4-1 extractor (remove cat-con, put direct bullet), better install bullet or midbox? Also wanna change to s-flow muffler... Got advice to add midbox (fgk) as cps already have the stock bullet.

Got advice to add midbox (fgk) as cps already have the stock bullet. Someone mention to remove the cat-con will cost you about 110 while changing both (extractor+cat con) is 230. And I dont think that you can fix a bullet (or a midbox) at the cat con place because its near to the radiator and the position will be kinda weird (diagonal). For me, the nest thing I will upgrade is the muffler. If still not satidfy with the sound, only then I add another bullet/midbox. |
