Any particular reason why you'd prefer panasonic over sharp? Wanna understand more from your perspective

I heard from my wiring man that the best compressor comes from National (damm quiet), all others quite loud. Now National changed to Panasonic. blush.gif

I had an interesting conversation with the air-cond service man that came to service my mom's house.
My mom is using York and Panasonic air-cond.
He does all brands air-cond service (chap pa lang)
I asked what he thinks is the best brand.  hmm.gif
With the current advertisement, I wanted to install Panasonic.  rclxm9.gif

Below are the salient points of our discussion nod.gif

1. Daikin - It has the best build (thicker material), good quality, good technology, No.1 in Singapore, has links with Acson and York, he totally recommend, price not much different than Panasonic, was absent from Malaysia market awhile due to bad distributor but now making a strong comeback thus no problem with spare-parts, loud because it has a strong blower thus cools the room faster, only air cond with inverter that can use regular gas.

2. Panasonic - The build has gone thinner, the second brand he recommend after Daikin, well established in Malaysia thus no problem with spare parts,
loud because it has a strong blower thus cools the room faster.

Other brands - avoid if possible

A Korean brand who also produce mobile phone - avoid like plague.  tongue.gif

Reporting from KL.  laugh.gif

Pana sounds unstable lah. My house contractor previously was an air cond service guy. he do not recommend pana but daikin. I browsed through the priced in this forum, daikin is slightly pricier. Is it worth the extra RM100+ for daikin??

Not same wiring.

You need minimal 4 wires.
1 - Live
1 - Neutral
1 - Ground
1 - Control signal
1 - Control Signal secondary.

Some need 5 wires. Best is get 5 wires. My Panasonic need 4 wires, when i ask for Sharp, it need 5 Wires.

So best put 5. And if possible use all Inverter copper piping future to change A/C is much easier. I did a mistake by saving only RM 500+-, Should have use all Inverter piping. 10 Years later maybe hard to get non inverter, and got to redo piping.
*
Yeah, My contractor showed me 2 type of copper wiring when I asked him what copper pipe he used.
A normal copper pipe around 6 feet and another copper pipe that was only 3 feet.
The 3 feet copper pipe that he was using was heavier than the other pipe double its length.
It was thicker also.
Initially wanted to install daikin inverter air cond, now due to its wiring configuration doh.gif , open for suggestions blink.gif

More contractor talk regarding air-cond brands.
This time is regarding Mitsubishi.
My wiring contractor and wetwork contractor was discussing what type of air cond I should choose since I gave up on Daikin due to its unique wiring requirement.
When I brought up Mitsubishi, they nick named this air cond as the rich man's air cond.
This is because many of its compressor parts uses PCB, printed circuit board.
If rosak hafta replace PCB most of the time.

Can daikin works with only 3 wire? I never knew that there's a specific condition. Is Daikin any good? if its the only way why not then. Rather than paying him to hack the wall again.
*
Dunno about how many wires Daikin uses but daikin power point is unique.
Daikin Power point, next to compressor (outside)
Others Power point, next to air cond (inside).

Mee too, headache now rclxub.gif
Initially wanted Daikin (wiring issue)
Then Pana (heard many complain here)
York (heard many complain here)
Mitsubishi (heard all the parts has many PCB-spare parts - jialat )
Midea (looks like they are not serious for Malaysia - no Malaysia marketing website, even the Malaysia phone no is nonexistent)
others - most air cond service guys not recommend doh.gif

I got Sharp air cond because the salesman claim that
1. Its durable
2. Its quiet (both indoor and outdoor)
3. Its Plasmacluster technology is the most powerful air purifier.

I have installed 7 sets of concealed piping.
Due to Budget not enuff, only getting 3 Air Cond. sad.gif
The balance air cond piping not used will have ugly piping and wires dangling from the wall. rclxub.gif
Any way or products that can cover these up ah?? sweat.gif

I like to switch on my fan (low speed mode) when I switch on my air cond at around 23-25 C.
It gives a good light breezy feel.
Is it gonna kill my air cond ?

Daikin wiring issue? Mind to elaborate? I just installed Daikin 1HP Inverter recently.

Added on February 19, 2012, 3:27 pmAre an inverter compressor suppose to stop spinning?

I saw my aircon compressor fan stop spinning once but then it start spinning again. I didn't stand there to monitor the compressor if it's stop again but I do realize that the compressor fan keep spinning at the same speed most of the time but I not sure whether it's spinning at full load or just partial load. The wind generated from the compressor is quite strong.

This is the temperature I set: 26c with 2 bar fan. Daikin 1HP Inverter.

Could it be the sensor wiring is not done properly?
*
If you ask specifically, Daikin will prefer the power supply to be near the condenser (outside unit) rather than the internal unit for their Air cond installation.
Of course usual for other brands the power supply are installed near the internal unit.
Usually air-cond installers will know what to do to work around this issue.

Dunno, this is what I was told by my concealed piping contractor, my electrician, my wetwork contractor (ex-aircond installer) and Daikin telephone service technician helpdesk. blush.gif

just bot a Mitsubishi 1.5hp MS-GF13VC @rm850 cash n carry, i ask for 1.0hp but was given 1.5hp, didn't check and only notice this morning when my a/c man start to install it, got to pay him extra to mod the copper piping too doh.gif
*
If your room is small and do not need over spec air cond (extra electricity charge) coupled together with the extra price you need to pay for instalattion then this is a negative developement doh.gif
