Want to ask about the air con setup for 20x70 living and dining hall.
Usually how is the setup?

2hp in living and 1.5hp in dining enough?
Or 1 2.5hp in living only? but can dining get the cool air?

I need some advice here. Appreciate anyone can share their current setup.
Thanks.

20x70 living and dinning hall is very big, you need lots of A/C
*
Sorry, let me do some correction. The 20x70 is the size for the entire house.
The built up area for living and dining area is 20x26 (including staircase) and dry kitchen area is 9x6

How should I place my air cons?

It will also depends on what is the temperature you are expecting form the AC. You have a staircase, which I presume is open to the upper floor. Thus source for cold air to escape. Unless your living & dining areas are enclosed, it will be difficult to achieve a very low temp.
Thanks for replying, normally i set the temp to 23 or 24 degrees C. Since this is my 1st landed DSL House, therefore i would like to know from other forummer what is the usually placement for air con in ground floor and what is the needed horse power.

Thanks again.

I use 2hp for my living hall, 1hp for dining area (with dry kitchen).

My living hall is about 21 x 16, dining area  11x 20

For me is not really cold, just enough to make it only. If I have the cash, I'll go for 3 x 2hp.
*
hmm... i cant afford 3 x 2HP too, dont forget the electricity bill rclxub.gif

Here is my floor plan, smaller than yours, hope 2HP in Living and 1HP in Dry kitchen is sufficient.

I used Mitsubishi Mr Slim 7 years ago. After 1 year, quite a lot of problem. 1st of all, it not as cool as new even i dont the regular chemical full service annually. 2nd, the aircon vent is dripping water when entering 2nd year. 3rd year, the board faulty and the temp control go haywire, even i set 25, the compressor will not stop, continuous running not stop and the temp is like 16 sad.gif after this incident, i gave up.

After i moved to my new condo, i bought Panasonic, happily even after and pana serving me well for 3 years + now and i will move them to my new landed house soon.

Was quoted Mitsubishi elec basic 1.5HP, RM1.2K. Is the price ok?

I am also looking for additional new air con for my new house, was quoted RM1040 for Panasonic 1.5HP (normal one) without installation. RM730 for 1HP without installation.
Quite cheap rclxms.gif

That's my experience only and is 7 years ago. Now should be improved already. Or maybe my luck is bad.

My LG 32 LCD also spoilt 2 times already. Now is the 3rd board from LG tongue.gif

Sometime is all about luck too.

From past experience I found the National are much more reliable, but after the single brand to Panasonic is no longer that case.
*
Totally agree!
I don't have luck on this kind of thing one.
Even my car, within 1 year, wheel bearing spoil twice.
House, normal water filter for washing machine burst once and drinking water filter keep leaking one.
sigh.....

so dont come close to me to avoid my bad luck whistling.gif

does econavi/autocomfort really benificial?
*
Yes, the most basic one.
I only want cool air, not the rest of the features therefore these are the most basic model.

Is there a way to check the wiring is done for inverter? My contractor did two sets of aircond wiring. One is inside master bedroom and the other one is in the living hall.

This is the sample of his job for my master bedroom. inverter for 1-1.5hp

I haven't paid him on hacking and concealing yet so want to confirm if this is really done for inverter type aircond. Many thanks in advance.

Only 3 wires so might not for Inverter. please double check.

the 2 cables outside is it just hanging there or connected?

Why not get the contractor who install the piping for you to install the air con too? better get the same guy to do the job end to end to prevent finger pointing in future.
