I am surveying aircond too....

current in my list are follow the priority
1) mitsubishi heavy industry (Deluxe type-SRK model)
2) hitachi (Deluxe type-RAS)
3) mitsubishi electric (Mr Slim-GF & FF model)

My comparison according to my consideration
1) Ioniser (1st & 2nd only) 3rd only actually just to remove bad smell (plasma)
2)Warranty (2nd and 3rd got 2+7 year warranty, 1st only 1+5 year warranty
3)Self clean - 1st:Auto Clean, 2nd:No self clean, 3rd, manual clean
4) EER, 1st one is the best, then 2nd and third (Have to confirm again) - Higher is better to save electric)
5) btu, according to sales person, 2nd=10000btu, 3rd=9545btu, 1st=9000btu (lower is better)

6) price range: similar
7)quality:according LYN, all three brands are good and realiable

My decision: (Tomolo I will buy it)
1) Mitsubishi Heavy Industry because safe electric and got auto cleaning. although warranty is less, but i think when the time after 5 yrs, i oledi forget where do i keep the warranty card oledi....hehe
2) 1hp with ionizer at my master room (coz use longer while sleeping) and 1.5hp without ionizer at my living hall (I think not frequent, if hot and want good air, go to bedroom lo)
3) 1hp (with ioner) = RM980 and 1.5hp (Without ionizer) =RM1130
So RM2k got two aircond....

Will buy for other rooms when i got extra money.....haha

Btu lower = need more time to cool the room/ place.
*
according to the sales person, if btu higher, will drawn more electric during starting....which i think is reasonable..... rclxms.gif
But, some sales person say, higher btu, faster cool, then lagi save electric....

i think (just my think, not the fact), i can just rely on EER for the electric saving guidance.......... rclxub.gif

QUOTE(lingleeyen @ Jul 6 2012, 11:43 PM)
Higher capacity unit does cool the room faster. However, if your room only need 1HP but you put a 1.5HP, you not only waste initial capital, have higher electricity bill, and also resulting in alot of cut in cut out of compressor.

Even with inverter, the min frequency that it can run maybe 20Hz for certain brand, can only run for a specific amount of time. If the room temp does not rise, the unit will be forced to cut out. In that case, if start stop is so frequent even with inverter, what is the use of having inveter?

So size your AC properly. Don't just go for the biggest available.

Also, EER is just a reference. How they got their capacity depends on how each manufacturer do their testing. There is no apple to apple comparison for AC in Malaysia. Even if with the star rating, it is a relative comparison. The most accurate comparison is NEA from Singapore, where one stop testing for all brands under the same condition. Therefore, it will be apple to apple comparison. However Singapore unit spec can be different from what you get in Malaysia for certain brands to pass regulations and what not. But I guess, it will be logically dumb to choose a low EER unit from a high one right?

tq for the info...btw, i just purchase two unit...as per my earlier decision, mitsubishi heavy industry 1hp with ionizer n 1.5hp without ionizer...total price without installation is rm2080....reasonable price...hehe...

however, I m only afford to buy two airconds at master room and living hall....

but, there there two more points at room 2 and room 3....how do you cover the piping? can i use back the gas pipe after three years or even more? if I didnt tape the holes, i afraid "lipas" will go in and block the holes in future....

so, any idea? Tq

Erm, I haven't gotten my air conds yet  (just placed the deposit during the fair) as my house renovation isn't up to the stage where the air cond should come in, so I've no idea about it. But it sounds absurd to not have a warranty card. I think you should insist on that warranty card dude.

Hi i'm planning to get Mitsubishi basic model MS-GF10VC.
Anyone currently using it?do u recommend it.
Whats the current market price now for it and there's this other model that i saw in another shop that tried to sell me the display set MSGC10 for 799?.I tried to look for it from Mitsubishi MY website but they don't have that model.Could it be an older model and how new is this MS-GF10VC though..thanks.Another model that grab my attention would be SHARP 1.0hp  having plasma but it's still kinda new in the market right. Also this would be my 3rd aircorn im getting for my room from acson>daikin inverter that didn't last long and breakdown and cost rm700 to repair so i might as well get a new one.Not into inventer aymore though. How about other brands or 1.0hp model that you guys have purchased and have been having it for quite some time already.

hi, for those who using mitsubishi heavy industries/mhi aircond, how do you register for the warranty? mine doesn't have warranty slip and i couldn't locate the website url for warranty registration, except for mitsubishi electric which i think doesn't apply to mhi, right? thanks.
*
For mine, the shop owner asked me to keep the receipt until the warranty expired... sweat.gif
