QUOTE(gamenoob @ Jun 17 2009, 02:04 PM) BTW, I just saw Daikin ads today in STAR paper that its latest Inverter AC can use standard/normal copper piping... need not be any thing special... does mitsubishi mr slim cools the room fast?So far I'm using Mitsubishi Mr Slim. One thing nice about it, they are quiet and easy to use. Not the most beautiful but I had them for 10 yrs now and working fine. One thing nice about it its come with self diagnostic error indicator to help narrow down on what failure its encountered. One time, it wasn't kick in at all, the Compressor is not running, just blowing air. The LED was blinking in some same sequence. Reading my manual and calling the cust Service, they ask the blinking sequence. It was the starter condensor which have failed. Cost less than RM100 for them to come (on time) and replace it.. |

My Mitsubishi electric indoor unit was generating strange sound towards the end of 2nd year warranty. Their technician came few times but couldn't solve the issue. At the end they change a new indoor unit for me. so I'm impressed by Mitsubishi's good service

Anyone has issue of Mitsubishi Electric Mr Slim 1.5HP non inverter making the noise "tak tak" especially the moment the compressor kicks in, after the thermostat sound after a few hours of usage. The tak tak sound is not the thermostat sound.
Initially i thought it's the sound of swing, but even when i turn off swing, i still get the tak tak sound. I realize this tak tak sound only comes out after 1 year plus of usage. the unit i'm using now is the 2nd unit i have, after complaining to Melco Sales on this tak tak sound. they swap a new unit for me, and now this sound recur again.... PS: I did chemical wash like once a year and not sure whether the sound is related to parts destroyed by the chemical wash. |

QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Dec 1 2012, 01:03 PM) Using the same AC. Do not face this problem after 3 months of usage. Will the contractor caused this problem? mine is probably a model one generation older. i used the first unit for close to 2 years before the tak tak sound and then melco sales swapped another unit FOC and i use this swapped unit for close to 1 year, now the sound comes back again.it's hard to troubleshoot since the sound only come like after few hours of usage and only when during compressor kicks in. I've seen comments that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries aircond are noisier. Is it as noisy as York aircond? Appreciate those who have used both brands before to comment.
Thanks. PS: Am seriously considering this brand for purchase. |

many years back, i was using daikin inverter 1.5hp with R22 gas in my master room (15ft x 15ft). during the months with hot weather, it took quite some time (~1gr) to cool down the room as part of a side of a wall is facing afternoon sun.
now, i'm thinking of fixing mitsubishi elec starmex 1.5hp which uses the new gas. will it perform similarly as daikin inverter, ie not cooling enough? or is it starmex has higher cooling capacity/btu due to newer gas? or i need a starmex 2hp? PS: cant really find the btu for starmex 1.5hp in the web site to compare against daikin inverter 1.5hp. |

With powerful, it might take 30-40 mins to cool down. 2hp I feel could be over kill as the price jumps from 1.5 hp to 2hp a lot

Starmex got 1.8hp?
QUOTE(kimsim @ Oct 14 2013, 06:13 PM) I guess u go for 1.8hp for starmex now, due to cutting cost for fancoil become a smaller size as 1.0hp now. Cooling wise may take longer a bit to compare as 1.8hp. For 15ft x 15ft = 4.5x4.5m x 3.2m high is very common area, for what I can suggest, go for Starmex inverters to be save time and quick cooling for set at 25 degree only. Fan speed at low already good than enough. Cause for my living hall + dinner area is open until kitchen area. For my Starmex 2.5hp inverter only set at 25-26 in low fan at afternoon sun. |
