Buying which model of air conditioner was an easy decision for me but currently having dificulty to find a good air conditioner contractor having good installation job. I find many air conditioner contractors are giving lousy service and not doing the installation according to SOP. Many contractors are hiring unqualified/uncertified technician(s) and they tend to do the job according to their "own pasar standard". When U tell them "Ur suppose to do it according to the manual as written", they will tell U "I'm been doing this for years and I haven't seen anything problem due to this". Most of them are "btc" which means nvr been to school for education.

I currently looking ard for a good reputable contractor who can do a good job. I don't mind paying so longs the quality of the job done is above my satisfaction level. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

The airconds will be installed with concealed trunking, this is the toughest part for me due to I have to find a contractor who can do a excellent job in both installation and concrete works. Headache unsure.gif .

anybody knows how much it costs to install aircond (1 hp & 2hp), with conceal type including piping?
*
Aside frm different air conditioner output, typical inverter and conventional air conditioners are having dirrerent labout rate of installation charges since typical inverter air conditioners are using R410A refrigerent which is more expensive than R22 refrigerent and besides the copper pipings are different in dimension. U need to specific which type of air conditioner besides the output of it.

easily 500-600 per unit
e.g

air-point point - 200 to 250 per point
air-point piping (conceal) - 10ft could 200, then extra 1 ft charge 15 - 17 pfr.

air-cond installation; if you will buy the aircond + standard installation; 180 - 350 per unit

Above rates are for what air conditioner output? Inverter or conventional air conditioner?

There is no different service with inveter or non inverter aicon. Price should be the same. Mind too is Panasonic Envio Inverter. Maybe he charge cheaper cause all my office aircon service by him. Probally your 1 is more expensive. tongue.gif

It quite difficult to find a good aircon service guy. This guy also so so only. But at least he don't cheat me about the gas refill thing and honest.

Ask him don't open the outdoor cover to service. Just spray chemical and clean. My experience is, the outdoor unit become loud sound after service. Think they not instal back properlly.

R410A and R22 are different in price. Typical inverter air conditioners are running on R410A refrigerent. Why is the service charges the same between inverter and conventional air conditioner?

Pana sounds unstable lah. My house contractor previously was an air cond service guy. he do not recommend pana but daikin. I browsed through the priced in this forum, daikin is slightly pricier. Is it worth the extra RM100+ for daikin??
*
Unstable in terms of what?

The price not include gas refill. You don't need refill gas every time service the aircon.

Some time follow manual will not work. If I follow manual to install digital lock I won't get it install into my door already. Manual is good but experience is a must.

Sometimes doesn't mean most of the times. There are exceptions due to many factors. If manual is not for U to follow, then what is the reason manufacturer include along with their product? Unless V are better than the manufacturer on their own product. I agree tht experience is a must despite manual is given.

I don't wanna end up like this.

Ive given you the prices of the Panasonic aircons in earlier posts. Its much cheaper to get it from Legends SS2. Your prices seem a bit high. Your 1.5HP Pana Deluxe with Ioniser (non inverter) costs RM1630 with installation while i installed mine yesterday for only RM 1380 (all inclusive).

Plus i dont think you will need 3HP aircon.

The problem with using lower hp aircons is that the compressor will need to come on more often to maintain a particular temperature. Thats why sometimes ppl who have installed inverter aircons still complain of high electricity bills.

BUt if your room is small then a 1.0HP will do. I dont think 1.5HP aircon is sufficient for an open area like the hall unless your hall is really small.

I think it's the installation charges cheap but not the aircond since U advised tht if w/o installation it's only RM150 of deduction.

I bought a Panasonic CS-S10MKH and CS-S13MKH at RM1,165 and RM1,495 respectively and price are w/o installation.

I was quoted the Daikin FTKS50GVMG/RKS50GVMG (2HP, inverter type, R410A refrigerent) at RM2,950 w/o installation, and RM3,450 with installation.
