The most value for money under sink drinking water filter is Culligan IC-EZ-4. It has both NSF 42 & 53 certified. Can even filter VOC.
I bought my unit from Walamart @ US54.00 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Culligan-IC-EZ-4...Filter/15552246 Replacement cartridge cost is only US37.51 at Walmart. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Culligan-Replace...ration/13074314 Installation is super easy, no plumbing experience also can instal. Just place the filter under the sink. Still worth the shipping cost if compare to the selling price of other NSF 42 & 53 certified ones in Malaysia. ![]() This post has been edited by aeiou228: Jul 21 2014, 12:39 AM |

QUOTE(-JC- @ Jul 22 2014, 08:40 AM) Hi, Ya, agreed, all selling above Rm1k or RM2k easily. This one only ~RM170 ex US.I'm interested in getting this. Did u get it shipped from US? how much is the shipping cost? Other NSF 42 & 53 certified filters in Malaysia are expensive You can google up any local US buying agent to help you buy and ship over to you. As for mine, it was brought back by my US relative personally. This post has been edited by aeiou228: Jul 22 2014, 09:57 AM |

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Jul 25 2014, 02:22 PM) aeiou228 : Not all filters with NSF 42 & 53 are exp, 3M AP Easy Complete is quite cheap as well. If u factor in the shipping cost, tax and etc of your culligan filter, 3M AP easy Complete would b cheaper. U got it cheap bcoz it was brought back by your relative. However, it would b troublesome to get the replacement and also no after sales support here in malaysia. Partially agree with you but as for troublesome replacement and no after sales support, I have ways to overcome it.One can get the service of Malaysian student/immigrant who offers USA shopping/shipping services here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Sear...hlite=USA+spree At US37 per replacement cartridge, one can buy 4 cartridges (2years supply) in one shipment to save shipping cost. Can refer to USPS rate table here: http://ircalc.usps.com/Mobile/Default.aspx BTW I will be ordering my replacement cartridge soon, anyone wish to share shipping cost can pm me. As for the after sales support, these two models are specially designed for DIY home users as it's name suggests...3M AP easy complete and Culligan IC-EZ-4. Replacement of cartridge is indeed as easy as just twise and turn and no tools needed. There for chances of calling for local support is near zero. Oh yes, Culligan replacement cartridge (US37) is very much cheaper than 3M AP Easy Complete (US67) replacement cartridge. Both also NSF 42 and 53 certified. QUOTE(zheilwane @ Jul 29 2014, 09:37 PM) Well sometimes things could happen, like sometimes u need the replacement urgently and u forgot to preorder it, u need to ask questions or spare parts but no1 there to help u. Everyday i have many ppl PM me asking lots of questions regarding 3M water filters and also ppl asking for installation tips as some of their plumbers do not know how to install, filter gets clogged after few months, how to overcome it and etc. So, i m here to help my customers but if u get the malaysian student/immigrant will they help? Anyway, replacement cost and selling price for AP Easy complete is quite cheap, we are selling the replacement lower than US 67, the price of the product depends on where u purchase them, not all dealers selling at the same price. Fair enough. Do you plan to bring in Cullingan IZ-EZ-4 ? It is way cheaper than 3M AP easy complete. Both are NSF 42 & 53 certified. However, i do agree that the initial cost of US 57 is very cheap bcoz u do not have to pay tax and shipment fee. |

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Aug 1 2014, 10:43 AM) yup nightfelix, thanks for defending One can buy Culligan IZ-EZ-4 with or with out tap.True i do have a shop and i sell water filters, bathroom and kitchen stuff online but i read reviews and do my own research to select my products, that is how i get to know 3M previously (from customer reviews online), i spoke to their sales representative checked on the reasonable selling price and now i m selling 3M. With tap is US76 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Culligan-Under-S...ntlyViewedItems ![]() Without tap is US54 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Culligan-IC-EZ-4...dingMethod=p13n The Culligan I bought came with the tap but I think it will be more cost effefective to buy the one without tap to reduce the shipping cost. A decent sink top filter tap can be bought from RM20 to RM40 at Houz or any tiling shop. No need to buy the RM100 high end ones. I agree with you that some consumers don't mind paying higher price for after sales support. But for those who has the ways and means to buy from USA, one can get it at least 50% cheaper than the local selling price. I compare the US pricing for both Culligan IZ-EZ-4 c/w tap and 3M AP easy complete c/w tap, it was US76 vs US118, Culligan is cheaper. I'm sure if you can bring in Culligan, you can sell this NSF 42 & 53 certified budget under sink drinking water filter like hot cake. http://www.amazon.com/Aqua-Pure-Under-Filt...KCBJ3HQW4K33QS3 |

QUOTE(tohtiengchiah @ Aug 14 2014, 08:35 AM) There is a local online reseller of Culligan EZ-4 water filters. His link is I happen to bumped into Culligan IC-EZ-1 available at Ace Hardware in Chitta Mall. RM95.90.http://www.lelong.com.my/culligan-ic-ez-4-...7-01-Sale-I.htm Actually he is my friend. He order in bulk so can get it cheaper. As for future replacement, he told me don't worry as Culligan is an international brand name it will be available in stock. The head can be used for ic ez 4 replacement cartridge. When asked for IC-EZ-4 replacement cartridge, no stock. Add on: Apparently, Ace Hardware is Culligan's official retailer. http://www.culligandiy.com/find-a-retailer/ This post has been edited by aeiou228: Aug 14 2014, 12:12 PM |

QUOTE(tohtiengchiah @ Aug 14 2014, 05:00 PM) My friend who is selling this same Culligan filter online Your selling price is RM399 for the IC-EZ-4 set and replacement cartridge (RC) is RM299 ? (http://www.lelong.com.my/culligan-ic-ez-4-water-filter-nsf-42-53-certified-blueoceanmkt-I1561966-2007-01-Sale-I.htm) He have enough cartridges on stock. All is EZ-4 cartridges. He got it bulk online. If interested can contact / email him (pls check his lelong for contact details). Genuine seller. In the end what you get is a same filter as Ace Hardware. Maybe he can also lump in a valve connector for the sink tap also. In this case, one would rather buy IC-EZ-1 from Ace Hardware at RM95.90, then get the RC from you @ RM299, total is RM394.90 but will get extra RC-EZ-1 cartridge. Anyway it is good to know that you have ready stock for replacement cartridge and those who need it urgently can buy from you. For those who are interested in Culligan RC-EZ-4, please help to check with your respective Ace Hardware in your area whether they carry RC-EZ-4 replacement cartridge or not. I saw the RC-EZ-1 replacement cartridge selling at RM62.90 at Ace Hardware Chitta mall. This post has been edited by aeiou228: Aug 14 2014, 05:43 PM |

QUOTE(lowya @ Aug 14 2014, 06:13 PM) This brings another question: Are there any NSF certified water filter below RM400 budget? Bro, the high selling price in Malaysia for NFC certified water filter makes you doubt a RM400 budged filter ??btw, whats the specs difference between IC-EZ-1 and IC-EZ-5 ? Well, don't worry Bro, it's true that you can get NSF 42 & 53 certified Culligan IC-EZ-4 at ~RM180 (ex US price). Here, help yourself, just key in IC-EZ-4 in the search filed. http://info.nsf.org/Certified/DWTU/ IC-EZ-1 is NSF 42 certified only. Never heard about EZ-5 though. You can buy the IC-EZ-1 from Ace Hardware, then buy the RC-EZ-4 from lelong seller, total at RM394.90 and you are indeed getting a NSF 42 & 53 certified filter + a free spare IC-EZ-1 replacement cartridge. If you want lagi cheaper, then you must join the bulk with me to buy direct from USA. |

QUOTE(lowya @ Aug 14 2014, 07:27 PM) No doubt about Culligan brand, just want to bring in another competitive model for comparison. Teaching in open forum no problem la, don't ask me instal for you sudah If you can teach how to install (from your experience), i have no problem going joint bulk purchase, count me in when your proposal ready btw, Culligan IC-EZ-1: NSF 42 (capable to filter 11,356 litres) Culligan IC-EZ-4: NSF 42, NSF 53 (capable to filter 1,892 litres) besides capacity, any diff in filtering effectiveness? looks like IC-EZ-1 can filter more than IC-EZ-4 (should be cheaper than previous?) EZ-1 no NSF 53 For 1892ltr, over 6 months filter lifespan, the average is 10 liters a day. I think my family average usage less than 3 liters a day, so filtering capacity is not my concern. The most I push for extra 1 month after recommended 6 months life span. Remember, it is drinking water, not washing water, we can't drink so much water. |

QUOTE(lowya @ Aug 17 2014, 10:50 PM) problem is can't even find Culligan IC-EZ-1 at Ace Hardware at the Mines just now, that supervisor like not interested to restock or assist further. Chitta Mall AH confirm have stock. I suggest you install EZ1 first then take your time to bulk the EZ4 RC from US.Walked on to next electronic stores all only sell those Panasonic, opened it up and disappointed to see only a very light and small carbon filter inside, seriously doubt that thing can do filtering job well. |

It comes in rolls like the ones in the "kain shop". Basically find a sheet which is 100% opaque i.e. no light can pass through. Some chinese hardware shop will have, if not have to go to chinese shop which specially sell the plastic sheet as there are many patterns. Alternatively, can use the right size poly bag to cover it up. Durable and neat.![]() ![]() |
