Hi everyone, just a question, can I install the culligan filter myself or I need a plumber? Pls advise before I buy one from ACE. Thanks!
*
The Culligan IC-EZ-4 as its name suggests was designed for DIY market. I'm not a plumber but I managed to installed it myself.
As long as the you already have an existing tap hole on the sink top, installation is just plug and play.
If no existing tap hole, then you need to get a plumber.

looks like a nice water filter for poe after a sand filter.
*
Double filtration definitely gives you much cleaner filtered water. But the down side is that the maintenance cost will also double.

Hi,  if I want to buy  Culligan IC-EZ-4; where should I go to/ contact? Thanks and great thread running biggrin.gif
*
I've seen Chitta Mall, IOI Mall, MV Ace Hardware selling IC-EC-1 @RM95.60 but not the IC-EC-4. Ace Hardware doesn't sell EC-4 cartridges. The filter head is universal for both EC-1 and EC-4. A local seller selling the Culligan's EC-4 replacement cartridge at RM299. If you have ways and means to buy from US, the selling price for EZ-4 RC is USD35 to USD40 Ex USA.

tq

Most definitely, anything to do with heating will surely consume a lot of electricity. Energy consumption is also depend upon how effective is the energy management of that particular appliance.

From the big bottle? it may not be that cheaper. How much per Liter you paying now?
*
Based of the RM200 replacement cartridge price for 3M AP Easy Complete with filtering capacity up to 2839ltrs, the cost of a true NSF 42 & 53 certified drinking water is 7sen per liter.

I don't think bottled water can ever match the lower cost of filtered water.

How cheap?
*
Irzani may have different perspective of cheap. For example, instead of spending a few hundred or thousand ringgit for a NSF certified water filter system or replacement cartridges, a few ringgit bottled water is cheaper. Which I think is true for single or double occupancy student or working adult in a rented premise.

Come on I am not a salesman and I am not promoting any brand. I am looking for a water filter. Any info would be appreciated.

As suggested by NightFelix, buy these 3M outdoor and indoor set (RM1079.10 +RM674.10). Good enough. No need look far far. NSF 42 & 53 certified. If don't believe, you can search NSF website yourself.
If got more budget, buy Amway eSpring for indoor for extra UV light screening but need to connect to power source.

I want to buy Culligan EZ-1 and use it until it's expired then change to ez-4 cartrige.

Now i'm using a cheapo 2 stage water filter bought from Mydin mainly for cooking and washing vegie/fruit. Sometimes drink from it after boiling.

Compare to that cheapo 2 stage water filter, is Culligan EZ-1 better? its RM20 more expensive. But not sure if EZ-1 still better than my current water filter.
*
EZ-1 is NSF 42 certified. Better then uncertified ones. Just boil the water before drinking until you change the cartridge to EZ-4. Forumer -JC- is doing EZ-4 bulk from Amazon, you can join him.

At least 5yrs perchange. Rm400perfilter/64mth = RM6.25. Can cheaper lor.

Ozak, last i checked the 3M AP902 replacement cartridge price at Perfect Living Exhibition last month was RM450 (List Price).
If want cheaper alternative yet serve the same purpose, perhaps this one ? RM450 only.

For POE water filter, I use 2 units cheapo RM25 AEON Big standard transparent 10" water filter housing, first filter I use the easily available 5 micron PP sediment filter cartridge and second filter use 1 micron cartridge. The RM3.00 1 micron cartridge can get from The Living Depost, right in front of AEON Big Puchong Utama. So far, water quality in my area is quite clean and I only need to change the cartridge every 3 to 4 months. Some ppl may have the opinion that this type of POE sediment pre-filter is inconvenientand need to change cartridge very often though it is cheap and low maintenance, but to handyman ppl like you it's kacang la. After all, frequent replacement of cartridge also means you get rid of harmful bacterial stuck at the cartridge more often.

No Bro, I definitely wouldn't be happy if your whole family is dying from ill-health.

I was just merely expressed my opinion to your question (in bold) as quoted below because I'm of the opinion that there is no magic water that can cure all types of illnesses.
Perhaps you can share with us how and why Lydia 7 can cure all types of illnesses ? hmm.gif
