The mask is needed in the suits of all 4 shown, Ant-man, Wasp, Wasp II, Yellow-Jacket... as air molecules needs to be shrank for the people in the suits...

Apparently the Pym particles reduces atomic mass as well... but apparently density and physical strength remains... Enlarging also increases mass, but note: not the amount of atoms.

By right, the enlarge Ant would/should die not long after, no compatible air (no breathing apparatus/mask/suit) nor does it actually absorb food of normal atoms...

Ant-man review! Marvel's last movie of Phase 2 before going into Phase 3. Now, alot of you non-comic book reader are wondering; 'Ant-man? What, his powers control ants only? So lame!'. My my, you non-comic book readers are so cute. So naive. Ant-man powers are beyond controlling ants only. I will explain more along the way. It's a pretty fun movie, as expected since it was from Marvel Studios.

The movie is about Scott Lang, a modern day Robin Hood(who is also an engineer), just got released from prison. He was struggling to make ends meet in order to support his daughter and unable to find a proper job due to his criminal records. He then got a assignment to steal something from a person's house, which he reluctantly accepts, eventhough he promised to reform but desperate in need of money. He then realized the thing he was supposed to 'steal' was a suit, only to realized that it was a test, by none other than Dr. Hank Pym(fun comic book fact: Hank Pym was the creator of Ultron and also one of the founders of The Avengers in the comics), who wants to recruit Scott to be the second Ant-man, to steal a newly created suit, created by his protege, Darren Cross, before it falls into the wrong hands.

Dr.Hank Pym was the first Ant-man and also the creator of the Pym Particles(fun comic book fact 2: the Pym Particles not only can shrink a person into the size of an ant, but also be able to make the person grow into a giant, hence Hank Pym has other alias in the comics, such as Giant-man and also Goliath) and was a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, who hates Howard Stark's(yup, you guessed it, Tony Stark's father) guts and resigned to open his own company. Together with his daughter, Hope van Dyne, they trained Scott into becoming the next Ant-man.

Ant-man is funny and also quite different than other Marvel films. It is more of an heist movie mixed with Mission Impossible in it. It is something different to see a superhero to not only control ants for combat, but also able to shrink and unshrink(when Scott shrinks, he maybe small, but the power compacts into a larger force, hence making him like a bullet. Too much power may kill someone, too little, will be nothing to the person in normal size) to fight to adapt in different situations. I also appreciate that not only the movie explored about Scott's past, but also Pym's as well. Please understand that this movie will not follow 100% like the comics, this is a whole different universe itself. Also, some fellow Avengers appeared in the movie as well. Yup, SOME.

Overall, Ant-man is interesting and I do hope they make a prequel to explore more on Hank Pym. Pym in the comics, has more story to tell, as he is pretty abusive towards his wife and also a pretty ego person, which I find Michael Douglas did a good job as Pym. It would be fun to see his adventures in the early days. Also, try to listen carefully to some of the easter eggs in the movie, such as 'a person who can swing around'*hint hint* and also 'saving a city from falling'. Since this is a Marvel movie, do stay back for the usual end credits and also post credits scene. You will not want to miss the upcoming Phase 3 movie: Captain America: Civil War! I give this movie an 8 out of 10.
