Duh, it had to happen to me. I tried to upgrade to Firmware 2.0 and I got the 1604 error. What am I supposed to now? Use Ziphone/iLiberty back to 1.1.4 or download another WinPwn. Arghhhh!!!!!

if i want to update now..whis ispw that i need to use,(winpawn 2.0.3) 1,1_2.0.1_5B108 or 1,1_2.0_5A347? or maybe i use the 5A347 then update with itunes?like that?

What firmware are you using by the way? 1,1_2.0_5A347 (1st Gen) or 1,2_2.0_5A347 (3G)?

If you are getting 160x errors (1600, 1601, 1602, 1604) you may have used the wrong firmware image for your device. Make sure you got the correct firmware.

If you are using winpwn version earlier than 2.0.0.3 you may see 160x errors.

im using 1,1_2.0_5A347 for my 2g Iphone(1.1.4 firmware), itune 7.7.0.43 and winpwn 2.0.0.3 RC1 . ive manage to create the Custom-iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore file in the pwnage directory, pwned the itunes and when i use the restore from itune, it gaves that 1604 error on xp. now im trying this on vista and i follow all the steps again, this time it gives me this 'unknown error (9)' instead. pls advice

Just remember to Ipwner the itunes and set Auto lock to OFF...

Before this i getting same error because i never did what above..

my iphone now only show the itune logo with cable each time i turn it on, how to set tat auto lock now? do i have to restore to 1.1.4 again?

Do you restore with DFU mode or not?The itunes logo and USB cable is not DFU mode...you should me able to start your phone if you plug in your iphone to your PC...

In my case, the problem was with the iphone not in DFU mode.
If u see the USB cable and the iTunes logo on the screen, you're in RECOVERY mode and NOT DFU mode.

When your iPhone is in DFU mode, the screen in BLACK.

yes im quite sure its on the state of DFU (blank screen) and then the itunes will ask me to restore the firmware. This is what ive done :

i started the iphone on DFU mode
close the itunes
start the winpwn
IPSW Builder, selecting install cydia, youtube activation, activate iphone, enable baseband update, neuter bootloader, unlock baseband.
build .ipsw
then iPwner with the custom file
start the itune
restore with the custom file
errors, errors zzz.....

Hmm, i build my custom firmware without the iphone plugged in.. I doubt that matters though.
However I did not check cydia.

Oh when I failed to upgrade to V2.0, I actually restored it to 1.1.4 but did not run it through Ziphone.
I just re-PawNed it. Maybe that helps?

finally after 7 hours of torturing moments i managed to upgrade the firmware2.0 . i think it was something wrong with my windowxp and vista, so i decided to reinstall windowxp in my other hd. do all the required steps and voila 2.0 . thanks all


A new problem im facing with the new 2.0, it seems all my sms will not able to show the sender's name properly due to the 601x in front and my phonebook numbers are only 01x? any1 can help me?

what does it mean by flashing bootneuter failed?

if u have the latest bootloader, it will prompt fail. if u tick upgrade bootloader it will automatically upgrade from 3.9 to 4.6 (correct me if im wrong).

so does it mean i have to restore again?

nope, i also have the same error while upgrade it to 2.0 while on the bootneuter process but it was fine then
