Agreed with most of you here. Characters development is bit lacking here. I'm not sure who I like and rooted more, which actually no one. TFA kiddish it maybe but I like Kylo Ren the most. I don't care if he whimpy whiny brat but he looks cool to me, and he alone warrant enough reason for me to go for multiple viewing. That aside, I think I like Rogue One more than TFA. That last scene alone warrant multiple viewing for me as a big Vader's fan..

For me, I watched it on IMAX for its sheer huge screen. That's alone for me is well worth it. Many times before I watched movies at IMAX and normal screen, I felt a really downgrade experience to the latter. I can fully appreciate the 3rd acts of this movie at those humongous screen..

QUOTE(koolspyda @ Dec 19 2016, 06:51 PM) Alright Rogue one was great, I know it's divided amongst some fans, saying it's still too cheery Disney, not badass enough » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Or it's not as good as TFA » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « To me Rogue one did have many good moments, it certainly filled all the gaps the old fans asked about before Only few gripes I have.. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(greyshadow @ Dec 20 2016, 08:34 AM) Well... in Ep 4, 5, 6, we only see Vaders' action when dueling with another Jedi Yeah, I don't think its intended for Vader to move slowly in ANH because his foot cut off by Ben Kenobi or whatever. Does Lucas even know when he's making that film that's Anakin will be fighting his master for the first time in the prequel?and... 39 years ago, there's no one capable of doing such fight choreography as today seeing the light saber duel of modern fight in ep 1, 2, 3 vs classic ep 4, 5, 6, then you'll know why The impression of Vader in classic SW being slow is not because they intend to film it that way, but because of the constraints they had during those days |

QUOTE(elm0001 @ Dec 23 2016, 12:58 AM) I think I'm the only one who thought Felecity Jones' acting here a bit kayu.... given that she's an academy award nominee, I thought her performance was a bit disappointing Yeah, maybe probably only you. Reviewer across the board thought every actor doing a great job in this movie despite the lack of character building around them. For me she's doing good or maybe okay at the very least. |

QUOTE(elm0001 @ Dec 23 2016, 07:15 PM) When she said her first line in the movie "what is this?" I'm like woah this is cringy lol but yeah probably only me Cheesy, yeah maybe. She does seems like a bit kayu now if I think about it. There's lack of emotion throughout the movie for her for me I think its because there's not much scene that require her to exploit her full acting capabilities. This once again I blame the lack of character building. But when given chance, like the scene where she saw her father's hologram message she's nailed it. I really felt for her and for her father during that scene. In the end of the movie, when every main character died I don't really felt anything except maybe for K2SO scene. It moved me a bit.. |

A very good read albeit a very long one. TLJ has it flaws but I like the movie. Its a refreshing take at SW universe. After reading the article I kinda get where the hatred come from in this thread. I wonder how much it will make after receiving such devisive reception from audiences. Now, JJ Abrams back in driver seat for next episode I wonder what will happens with Rians Johnson's vision. I guess I'll just have to wait for the new trilogy trusted to him. This post has been edited by lord_aminkin: Dec 17 2017, 01:36 PM |
