Wa very mean looking! But easy to mod a reference card..just replace with Arctic Twin Turbo la =p

I would prefer it to come as stock though, no need to void the warranty rclxms.gif

Gainward 4850 GS damn tempting specs... but the heatsink design a bit ugly if compared to the HIS 4850 ICEQ4 ._. Dilemma lol!

I'm now deciding between the Gainward 4850 GS and the HIS 4850 ICEQ4. One is factory OC, the other is not but the heatsink looks way nicer =/. Both priced almost same though, any opinions?

Been thinking that way.. Won't be able to see the card much since my casing is a CM690 with the window.. most also see top only.. Hmm..

I see the comparison table in the pdf file.. a bit weird.. 4850 reference card idle at 70+???

I choose the Gainward 4850 GS instead of the HIS 4850 ICEQ Turbo cause the HIS is only stock clock. OCed one is the Turbo-X version but nobody seems to be bringing that one in yet lo.

Can't wait for the card to arrive xD. Last component left to fit in my PC biggrin.gif:D

Do you think HIS 4850 IceQ4 got Turbo-X? I thought it is for 4870 version?
*
According to this website, yes HIS releasing both Turbo and Turbo-X for the 4850. They haven't announced anything for 4870.

On reference design yes the card is hot. Mainly due to insuffficient cooling on the stock coolers lor. If possible get the non reference cards. Like that Gainward 4850 GS biggrin.gif. or maybe the HIS 4850 ICEQ4.

That Palit 4850 Sonic only using samsung 1ns chip wor, meaning theoretically max speed for memory is 1000mhz only... =/ Might as well go for those with 0.8ns rclxms.gif

Just received my 4850 GS yesterday as well biggrin.gif. Gonna fire it up today or so!.

Btw, all the reference 4850 provides a dvi-hdmi connector right? This item seems to be missing for my 4850 GS.. or probably it isn't provided?

Fired up my 4850 GS biggrin.gif.

Tried testing it using ati tool tray artifact scanning.. and it seems that my gc is making some noise when at full load? or is it the PSU? both of them are nearby so I can't really differentiate which is the culprit =/

I'm using Huntkey 550W (or this is the culprit?) Not enough power to 4850?

some at even kapuit when draw 80% at its rated power.

owh... HD4870 GS , yesterday i was wondering is there any then today comes out.. laugh.gif

Ehh dry.gif Guess was a bad choice to stick to cheapo PSU ._.

Will probably change one... So this is caused by PSU ehh?

My PC is running on E8400, GA-EP43-DS3, 4GB RAM, 1 WD 640GB HDD, lg 22x dvd burner, and lastly the gainward 4850 gs gpu... 550 watt cannot tahan all this ka? =/

some GC can emit low buzzing noise due to capacitor coils doing the voltage regulation. same card can exhibit different volume of noise. my 8800GTS oso emit that noise when in 3-D mode.

in ur case, change ur PSU since it's really playing with luck... rm1xx silverstone psu is better that huntkey..
*
I'll try and get another PSU to test first before changing.. Hmm... Cause my PSU is below the GC... sounds like coming from GC.. but sounds like coming from PSU.. can't distinguish lol.

Do owners here owning 4850 have this weird noise when running at full load? or the fan too loud to hear already? sweat.gif
