I am using a 4850 Golden Sample myself. I would love to know if he did add any extra cooling or whatsoever to get it to run at the clock.

I'm using 4850 GS + Huntkey VPower 550W. Result is a PSU that will make high pitch noise according to the FPS. The higher the FPS the higher the pitch. Conclusion, make sure you get a better PSU (or a real true power).

=/ Maybe when this PSU dies on my system? But I definitely learn my lesson, PSU needs more budget. At first thought can cut by getting a decent one...and since this Huntkey specs very appealing for the price.

Windows XP Professional SP3 32bit. Haven't tried with Vista yet. CCC 8.8. Though I'm thinking if the blackscreen is actually the VPU crashing and then CCC reseting it so the screen comes back?

I'm using XP SP3 32bit and I do encounter black screen.... =/ Though very rarely, but it did happen before.

And I have a friend using 4850 GS recently bought as well also having noisy PSU. Also a 450W Coolermaster PSU, don't know which model.. is the one with LED lights and the front panel.

Funny thing is that, when I run 3Dmark06 that is actually stressing the GC as well isn't it? No noise though, but got noise at those furmark or atitool or whatever is because their FPS was like above 1k... and the noise sort of fluctuates according to the FPS ._. weird case lol.

So far never crash yet, *touch wood* cause the sound doesn't appear when I game.. since I turn the vsync on so the max fps also 60 only.

That's probably from PSU... those loading screens... check what the FPS is like lo, with atitraytool or fraps or something. I did force turn on the vsync so my card dun have the noise during the entire crysis game even at the loading of nvidia/intel and etc.

Woot, got CCC8.9 already. Gonna try it out.

Quad CF of 4870x2 takes 750watt.. you're gonna need something like this http://www.pcpower.com/power-supply/turbo-cool-1200.html to power it up! 1200W true power.. 1400 peak power... < macam aircond consumption already doh.gif

CCC8.9 gave me lower 3dmark06 bench doh.gif

Read around ppl reporting the beta 8.9 giving them increased performance in game instead shocking.gif

And my GRID crashed on the first race ._.

Will redownload the 8.9 and do a clean reinstall again later. If still same I'm going back to 8.8. Now cannot do liao >.< Need go campus ._.

Alamak, I didn't run GPU-Z when I played the game...

But my max temp is about this...55% fan, ran furmark about 10minutes to check my max temp yesterday.

Some review of the Huntkey 550W greenstar. I have the Huntkey VPower 550W... so far it is alright.. just that it makes high pitch noise when playing games especially when vsync is turned off. (menu very obvious lol... fps goes very very high there without vsync)

149 from zhen^wei. Nice seller though. VPower is the older one, from my experience 4850GS on this VPower does make high pitch noise and I observed that the noise comes when fps is very high... such as menu, or those loading screen or similiar. Didn't had noise with a Silverstone ST50F though (which I borrowed from a friend for the sake of trying out to see if the noise is there).
